Nurburgring 21st-22nd April 'Anlassen'
Discussion
I just forget how good these roads out here are. Once you get the first hour of motorway done which is painful it becomes amazing for hours upon hours
I have loads of pictures but I drunk so I'll just put the group for now
I had to keep dropping the pressures but it was great fun. Following nurburgring biker blog on the first lap watching his honda africa pull an 8.30 and weave about was quite an interesting watch... His rear tyre was f**ked
Gonna enjoy a bbq and update this properly tomorrow

Which route did you take?
Can't remember all the road names I'm afraid. We basically did the first tank of fuel on the motorway as we left then after filling out avoid motorways on the nav and it takes us through the twisties. We did the same on the way back but as opposite as we came back via calais so the last hour did motorwayDakkon said:
Have fun, it is such a great track
Was amazing but as always there's so much to see and do that we just ran out of time. I did 2 laps in the evening and 2 laps both following my brother in the morning as it was his first time and he's quite tentative on a bikeHe found it quite daunting first lap but then loved it so much he did another 3
Also had the old boy of the group just about to turn 60, never done a track day and he did a lap just to say he'd done it
Did just short of 900 miles in 48 hours
Weather and conditions were pretty much perfect throughout. Pure sun, 25-28C in April in the Eifel!
Brought 2 friends who had never been before and did some fun laps on the old horse. Scalped an R1 and GSXR which was good fun, but the GS is limited on the Ring by it's short gearing (vmax is only about 125-130mph). You hit the modest vmax long before the crest at Schwedencreuz for example and are effectively coasting along instead of gaining more ground as you would on a sportsbike. Anyway, 2 pics from a great weekend - sadly blighted by the crash of a few bikers on the actual Anlassen parade lap which resulted in the death of one of them. The Ring takes no prisoners if you get it wrong.
