Listening to R2 the other day they had Swing out sister on (from the 80s). I was surprised that they have been going all that time. I'm sure there must be others (not ones who just reformed years later).

Anyway, back to 'Its better to travel' - happy (80s) days smile

They've got a great new album out.. One of the best shows I've seen was SOS at the Jazz Café 20 odd years ago. Great band, great venue

Is Radio 2 still going?

Yes, there must be hundreds, thousands even that drop off the radar.

Just a few years ago we went to a “do” in a caravan park in Deepest Darkest Darset....

Anyway they had booked a band called “ The Cufflinks” (who the F are they, I hear you ask - well we thought that anyway)

Turns out they had one hit in the 1960s (“Tracey”)..... and still gigging today.

A few people show surprise when I mention something about Wishbone Ash or Jethro Tull (either Anderson or The Martin Barre Band) or Steve Hackett or .....<insertwhoever>… still going strong after about fifty years. Some people just love playing good music so much you can’t/wouldn’t want to stop ‘em!

Sticks.

Barclay James Harvest. Saw them a few years ago. It appeared they had a new led guitarist who drowned out the previously distinctive vocal.

Caravan.

I'm in a tiny minority but Blind dog at st Dunstans is my favourite album although The dog the dog he's at it again is their best song for me. Possibly the most unfashionable band of all time but all the better for it ( although Camel run a close second)

I only found out they were still going when I went to see Steve Morrison at a pub and he had a drummer with him who I was told is the current Caravan drummer - scroll down to pic http://www.stevemorrison.eu/Steve_Morrison-Live_Da...

The guitarist is still John Lees (in John Lees version of BJH) - booked to see them in Buxton in October.

Went to see both BJH and Wishbone Ash (Andy Powell version) in Switzerland last year - great live sets from both...

Echobelly have partially reformed and were gigging last year. I streamed thier new album but didn't think much of it.

Garbage are still going.

Went to see Yes in York last night
They were fantastic but the average age of the audience must have been over 50,

A festival near here has, as one of the headlining acts, Dr and the Medics...

How they have managed to forge a 30 year career out of a dodgy cover version that became a one hit wonder I have no idea, but fair play to them!
