Old Skool Rave Piano House 1991-94
Discussion
All brilliant Stussy cheers for sharing. Old rave was rather slower 150-160bpm than happy hardcore and a lot more mellow. I was exposed to it at quite a young age because my older cousin who lived in North London used to tape hours of Don FM and gave us some of the cassettes (which are still in existence).
Yep, 99% of happy hardcore was cheesy ste!
Kniteforce put out some excellent breakbeat heavy stuff, but I split off towards jungle in that era.
I still have all of my old mix tapes too, must be 2 or 3 hundred all dating from 91 onwards. I’ve got my old collection of flyers too, all from 91-95 or so, must be hundreds of those too!

Burns-Talamanca is a good modern piano driven tune, as is High Contrast- Rhythm is Changing, both fairly recent releases.
May I recommend Rusko - LytahAnother artist to check out is Ben Hemsley, both his own productions and his DJ sets. Tends to drop something from the early 90s into the middle of his set. Seen this thrown in a few times.
Please to see the thread being kept lit. I'll likely return to the euphoric piano stuff at the weekend, for now I'll contribute to the breaks. From the tracks posted, I've managed to ID a few tunes Easygroove dropped, cheers for that. I've added the other stuff to my youtube playslist
There was a divergence about '92ish, from what I would class as rave (everything all mashed up) into breaks d'n'b and the nascent jungle scene..
