Rod Stewart's work with The Jeff Beck Group was astonishing. I find it a shame that he didn't stick with blues and went to MOR crap.
Then again, my favourite Stewart vocal is on Ol' Man River from Jeff's Truth album.
I've always thought the best showcase for his voice was In A Broken Dream by Python Lee Jackson. Then again, my favourite Stewart vocal is on Ol' Man River from Jeff's Truth album.
O/T what happened to them? That's such a good song.

I saw a short U2 documentary the other day with some early stuff of theirs. Bono has a fantastic voice.

IMO still not as good as Stewart's take on this, though:
Ol' Man River
Then again, his vocal work on the whole Truth album is fantastic; honourable mentions for Rock My Plimsoul and Morning Dew.
I've always thought Layne Staley (Alice in Chains) was underrated

Sorry but Roger Daltrey has never been a good singer and when you listen to Paul Rodgers trying to do Freddie Mercury songs it just enforces his limited range

A Paul Rodgers/Queen crossover was always a daft idea. But horses for courses; I can't imagine Mercury doing Free or Bad Company songs.https://youtu.be/1Cw1ng75KP0

Thread says good rock singers, not good singers! And for some music made in the last decade...
Crobot does good heavy rock and the dude has an amazing rock voice:

Twelve Foot Ninja make Faith No More influenced stuff, crossed with Meshuggah and Jazz / Bossa Nova. The guys has a great range and a cool sound:
