BluRay : yes
CDs : yes
Video Games: yes

I've never bought a CD or DVD as I've never had a player. (Well I have in laptops and the car but imo they don't count). I did buy some 12" singles last week though to add to my collection.

I have Spotify for general listening around the house etc, but any of these services are hopeless if you are into anything slightly obscure, or if as in my case part of the music experience is actually mixing tracks together.

I'll probably be buying vinyl forever.

Music not so much, I tend to just listen to the radio. But for films I still buy Blurays and 4k. Although Disney is trying to do a really good job of putting everyone off physical media by making the sound mixes too quiet.

We ditched CD's about 10 years ago now, but it's only in the last year that we stopped buying DVD's. We must have about 3000+ DVD's (including box sets), but now use Amazon and Netflix for anything new.

Really wish Amazon would allow you to watch any film/programme through Prime if you've bought it from them on DVD in the past, like they did with CD's.

Second hand DVD's are often less than the cost to rent them on Amazon.

I was In a library the other day and they have a DVD section of mainly 'out of date' films and they want £2 per rental!

I buy CD's still. My collection goes back to the Early Eighties and No problems with them decaying, If you like "older" recordings Cherry Red are a brilliant source of Eighties and later content. They are even bringing out special editions. Be Bop Deluxe's Sunburst Finish is getting a complete revamp on CD and DVD to be released later this year.

Why was this moved ?

The question wasnt music specific, it was about the media it is provided on.

CD's and DVD's

Why wasnt it moved to TV and Film ?

Video Games were mentioned as well, could have gone there, CD's and DVD's can fit in computers, perhaps put it there, or maybe just leave it where it was !

Looking around for something to watch and House was on Amazon, first season 10p an episode so I thought I would give it a watch. Really enjoyed it so looked at the next episode suddenly £2.45 per episode.

looked at the DVD's and found the whole first season for £2.94 and the second season for £2.23. That's why I still buy DVD's

It's a mystery........... IIRC it was in the lounge?

Perhaps it's just a consequence of "third party mods" justifying the cost by increasing their activity stats???

As per the title, just saw an advert for a Trance CD and wondered who is still buying CD's, even my wife has migrated to Spotify. CD's just seem a pain now.

DVD's, the same, cant remember last time I bought one.
I still buy CD's. Plenty of 'em. Bought seven today, charity shop and new. Turned down a good deal on a car because of no CD player. When I was heavily into cassettes a few years ago, had the CD player swapped for a cassette player on a new car.
