My favourite Jarre album (and favourite album of all time) is about to get a sequel, for better or worse!

Release 16 November.

Preview here:

Have to say, that little bit is making the hairs on the back of my neck (and everywhere else) stand up!

Do love a bit Jarre and this sounds good.

Thing is, in his day he was clearly way ahead of his time. Today, a lot of his more recent stuff just tends to blend into the plethora of electronic music that exists now.

Still a class act though!

And still sickeningly good looking for his age too!

Ambient.

StevieBee is right, though - there are so many artists churning out this kind of thing. https://www.youtube.com/user/ThePsychedelicMuse/vi...

I still have a few of JMJ's albums on cassette and used to listen to them a lot.

Edit: or maybe Psybient or Psychill. JMJ doesn't just play one simple style. Compare Oxygene 1 to Revolutions (with the Islamic "singing")!

Edit 2: Lift music? Synthesizer Demo Songs? wink

Thanks!

It reminds of music, that a pal of mine is involved with, on the release side of things:

Agreed I was also an early Jarre fan and still regularly listen to equinox and oxygene and occasionally revolutions. Can't really warm to his post 80's music really.

Looking forward to this as well, saw him on the Electronica tour and he was still really good live. Enjoyed both of the Electronica albums as well so think he is still producing interesting music.

Guess the problem he has is a similar one to Kraftwerk, everyone caught up and "borrowed" all of their original ideas hence making it difficult for them to stand out amongst all of the other electronic music. At least he's still making new music though....

Well it's arrived and I'm listening to it now on youtube.

Equinoxe infinity

10 minutes in and I'm loving it. Detecting the equinoxe theme but it doesn't stand out as much as I'd hoped. Then again, only 10 mins in to the 40 minute track...
