Yep it is large, I've messed around with it a bit so it fits better (I make this kind of stuff anyway) but ultimately I wanted it for the shelf in the living room. I've ordered a cheap £3.50 ghoul from eBay to match but thats going to need some work and chrome paint. I'll give it a go.
Number one son wants to head up to Leeds on Saturday. Can't say I'm not tempted....

Ah yes, I've been in that situation myself, it's never great having to prioritise, especially when gigs > adulting
See now I'm 46 (cough cough) now, kids 26 and 22 and both left home. At the stage we have more disposable income so can get to more gigs. Problem is number one gig buddy is the one that can't afford it I've just had a look again and there are only seats left in the Gods for Leeds anyway, and a hotel anywhere near would be about £150 so I think thats probably put that one to bed for us.

I live in Aberdeen (I'm from Huddersfield originally) do the majority of my gig goings require travel/hotels/time off, it soon mounts up, sadly
Anyone else see Snow Patrol on Saturday night at Oxford. Very different (reworked tour), felt like an "Audience with". Small venue and crowd, really enjoyed it.
And then Kodaline at the Roundhouse on Sunday night - really great sound, love that venue. Spent the afternoon mooching around Camden and saw a great Spanish band do an outside set at Gabeto - under heaters drinking G&T, they were brilliant.

I'm in Staffs and weirdly have never been to Nottingham arena until last weekend, despite the fact its a 40 minute run up the dual carriageway. Not sure why we've always gone for Manchester at all because I much preferred the Nottingham venue.I live in Aberdeen (I'm from Huddersfield originally) do the majority of my gig goings require travel/hotels/time off, it soon mounts up, sadly
I'm lucky where I am I'm about the same distance from Birmingham, Manchester and Nottingham so have a decent choice. I imagine Aberdeen is a bit lacking on the music scene.
Just looking at tickets for The Who in Notts but struggling to persuade the other half that £142 a ticket is a good idea

Was that before the gig? Assuming you were in solid rock, I was there too What a tremendous gig though, fantastic set list & they really knocked it out the park.
Yeah we were in there, sat in the back right corner, around eight of us

Never done Notts, but Manchester was a staple when I lived in Huddersfield, done many a gig at various venues thereI'm lucky where I am I'm about the same distance from Birmingham, Manchester and Nottingham so have a decent choice. I imagine Aberdeen is a bit lacking on the music scene.

I live in Aberdeen now so gigs are a tougher prospect, time off is the biggest issue, I should probably move south
Not long left of 2019 but I’m going to see Australian Pink Floyd this weekend. This year I went to see Paul Weller, Stereophonics at Eden; Elbow in Bristol and last weekend Snow Patrol in Plymouth.
Only 2020 gig booked so far is Simple Minds in Birmingham In April. In Cornwall will probably go to Keane and Rag’nBone Man at The Wyldes in June and see what the Eden Sessions brings. Would love to see Paul Weller again too.

One of those bands I keep hearing amazing things about but still haven't gotten around to seeing. Enjoy!
I've seen both incarnations of the main PF tribute bands. The trouble with tribute bands is no matter how good they are you can't help the feeling the original acts did it much better, and you are always aware that you are watching someone else's interpretation of your favourite songs. Sometimes - like with an ACDC tribute that only resembles the original music - less is more. Don't get me wrong, both PF tributes are very polished... .One of those bands I keep hearing amazing things about but still haven't gotten around to seeing. Enjoy!
Postmodern Jukebox last night at the London Jazz Festival - amazing group of stupidly talented performers...
So much so that we've just booked tickets for next year's tour!
Last gig of the year next month - well sort of gig - Nightmare Before Christmas at Wembley Arena with a live orchestra and Danny Elfman singing (reprising his role in the movie).

Sort-of gig related - did anyone see Spirits in the Forest last night? A one-off showing of the Depeche Mode film.
Really enjoyed it, the live footage was amazing, the fan segments were mostly tolerable although one song where they cut from the live performance to the dad & kids playing it on their kazoo and toy piano was a bit irritating!
DM are well and truly on my bucket list. They've no tours listed for next year, and they seem to do a lot of festivals which aren't really my bag, so will have to keep an eye out and maybe take a flight somewhere to catch them. High time they played Basildon Town Hall IMO
