The only way around it is for everyone to wear a mask , which means not being able to drink so the bar not selling anything .

Anyone with tickets for Faith No More in June heard anything? I know they've cancelled Aus/NZ, and I expect ours will go the same way - seems very quiet though.
No, not yet. Was going to London and Birmingham gigs too.

Had 6 gigs that have been rescheduled so far... all to October. So I now have 6 gigs in 8 nights hehe

I appreciate that...was rather hoping that by October some kind of certificate to show at the door or quick test to show antibodies might be available. Or we've realised SD doesn't really achieve that much and ditched it.

By some of the prices some places I've been to charge, they must make more money selling you drink that they do on the tickets !

I suppose all of those options are possible. Hopefully the last one you say as that's the best one.

And I was supposed to be seeing The Zombies this Sunday as well. As both Colin Blunstone and Rod Argent are 74, I just hope they both don't die of old age !

hehe Depends on the band. FNM were about £50 a pop for Brum (although based on their bar experience last time, it took 90 mins to get a pint)

Seen other bands where I've paid a fiver for a ticket, drunk about 60 worth and then paid £150 for a hotel...

Indeed.

I went to see Freak Show last year in Liverpool; £20 for a ticket plus 5 pints @ £5 a pint - more on beer than the ticket !

I haven't but there was a Tweet to the effect that all dates worldwide are postponed - might've been via Roddy Bottum's account - worth looking up.

As long as social distancing remains in place then concerts are just not practical. If you are sitting, then there will need to be loads of empty seats. And who decides who does not get to go ? And if you are standing, everyone being 2m apart - that's not going to work either. Again, you can't fit everyone in to the place. Plus people going to the bar or the toilet all night - again that's not going to work.

And on top of that, many venues, especially smaller ones, will have gone bust. The theatre in Southport went pop last week and they have said no one will be getting a refund on their tickets because they are bankrupt.

Until we stop social distancing events are just not going to work.
Most of the gigs I go to are at Camden Underworld or smaller - two metre spacing in there & there'll only be a handful of punters & space on stage for the singer and one additional band member.

Anyone jumping off stage will be in for a shock!

This is v.depressing but as you say above, gigs really not practical for some considerable time.

Depressing, huh?

I've got standing tickets for New Order at The O2 in October 2020. That got shifted back November 2021 yesterday. Hopefully by then some sort of normality will have resumed.

A gig went ahead in the States somewhere (Arkansaw?) yesterday - can't be more specific as my other half just told me - masks all round and everyone temperature tested on the way in.

My mate dragged me to see them at Brixton years ago - one of the few times I've seen a drum riser (which was on fire, naturally) in action.

They're pretty good live I thought. Didn't go for all that mosh pit malarkey though.

It was a pretty impressive show - Brixton's a decent venue for good sized bands.

There's a guy on pistonheads who's in a pretty successful Slipknot tribute band .

Certainly weren't 229 in there. Looks a bit grim.
