Gig Plans - 2020
Discussion
The Killers and the Manic Street Preachers in June at Ashton Gate. Literally my dream lineup and just a few miles from home.
Seen the Manics five times, the first of which was in 1993 as a four piece with Richey James Edwards in the band. Loved pretty much all of their stuff & met the band 3-4 years ago too. Have really got into the Killers over the last couple of years so to have one supporting the other and being a short drive away is the ultimate gig for me....

Guns n F**kin Roses June 2020 Dublin. Get in there
Just seen on Facebook they’re playing Tottenham’s ground end of May. I thought the original tour announcement was a bit odd missing out the UK. Coming to Scotland as well apparently but not on sale till next year.abzmike said:

The Groundhogs are touring early spring too, 50 years since TCFTB. Shame Tony doesn’t play live these days. Had a brief chat pre gig over a beer with him in Aylesbury in ‘76. One of my fav guitarists.
Christ, I'd go to one of those, but think only the drummer orig is left? The Groundhogs are touring early spring too, 50 years since TCFTB. Shame Tony doesn’t play live these days. Had a brief chat pre gig over a beer with him in Aylesbury in ‘76. One of my fav guitarists.
Not a fave band, there were just too many back then. Bit like Edgar Broughton Band, Apache Dropout and Hotel Room (just listened to it again, that is cool and weird still) -
With the Groundhogs, just one or two songs that hit home back in 71.
Especially Cherry Red. God, that is a great record! I loved that. Guitar. High voice parts!
I'd just met new girlfriend and dumped previous. She was only 17!!
Still know the words or most of 'em. Here goes.
All night long, I loved her
Morning came too soooon
I knew she'd be gone by the afternooon.
I said "Pleeeeeease don't go!"
Still she said goodbye
But as she turned around she had a glad look in her eye.
But as she turned around she had a glad look in her eye.
But as she turned around she had a glad look in her eye.
And I thought it said
When you look round to see me
You turn right in your bed
The warmth of my body will heat you...
Make your blood run ….che eerrrrrry, che eerrrry che eeerrrry red.
Bloody hell. I just looked at the Groundhog gigs for this year. Ok, I was right, only the orig drummer. But tickets (London) 23 quid. That's not bad. Then I looked at the first gig. In Glastonbury (ok, it's a bit of drive) but just 8 quid! I've paid more than that to see a local crap band. But.. Glasto is too f far.
Of bugger! I just mentioned about the Groundhogs to friend and he ups and says 'bet you got tickets for Greenie doo?' I said what?
How the f did I miss this?
Been a big Peter Green fan since first seen in 67 and FMac of course.
I just looked at the link he gave me and Mick Fleetwood has organised A Peter Green Tribute. At first I thought he had died or something. No.
Mick has got a group of musicians to do the tribute at the London Palladium on 25th Feb.
All tickets sold out by the look of it! F***!!
Playing with Mick Fleetwood will be
Billy Gibbon (ZZTop) - Dave Gilmour - Jonny Lang - Andy Fairweather Low (oh sod, I really rate Andy) - Christine McVie - Zak Starkey - Steven Tyler and Bill Wyman.
I can't believe I not heard about this. Sod it.
I wonder if Greenie knows about it?

Livewire AC/DC. A tribute act that doesn't take itself too seriously so it's a fun night over the moors with some beers. Musically tight, but vocally Bon Scott was terrible. Not only does he need sacking, but the guy who auditioned him beyond the first 10 seconds does as well. An affront. In a way better than Axl Rose though. There was an unplanned hiatus in the proceedings when Angus Young tripped over a speaker doing his duckwalk, went a over t and a medic was requested from the audience. He retook the stage with a left leg bandaged from his ankle to his knee, and treated us to Angus' striptease. Amazing.

Slipknot tonight!
How was it? Saw quite a few vids and crowd seemed quite odd, no pits during some songs that I thought definitely would've had! Also saw that yet more pickpockets were at that gig, been following the tour apparently. Floor littered with dumped phone cases etc.

I absolutely love Behemoth but the sound ruined it for me, we moved around the periphery of the crowd during their set but it was crap everywhere that we stood, pity
