FWIW Eilish has had 3, think last two were extremely popular
My bad, I was just going with what was said by another poster up the thread who stated she'd had two.I guess it's all about who is riding the zeitgeist at the time. On reflection I think I saw Arctic Monkeys headline a couple of festivals off the back of just their debut album, but they were there in the moment at the time and lots of people wanted to see them, I guess same applies to BE now. I'm just not personally feeling the love for her music.
Moving on from BE, for the first time in 20yrs I've got no real feel for who else is going to be on the bill because of the big Covid pause. You generally tend to get a feel for who has a record out, who is touring, and who will be hitting the ground running as a likely candidate. For 2022 I'm all "could be absolutely anyone!" but I guess a lot of the 2020 line-up will want to be carried forward.
As a reminder, poster below. Primal Scream is an interesting one now ... they have four big outdoor dates touring the 30th anniversary of Screamadelica, so hopefully Glasto will be their 'warm-up' for that, but it might of course negatively impact ticket sales for that if everyone has seen it on the telly two weeks prior. I guess Glastonbury being so in-demand means that many people aren't getting to go, so would happily go to the live headline show instead. I'm in the lucky pot of having a ticket, but currently holding off bunging 110 quid at a pair of Ally Pally tickets if I can see them at Glasto two weeks beforehand.
Dizzee Rascal: currently on bail for headbutting his ex-girlfriend, trial set for February. Could be an awkward one if found guilty.

- Kendrick Lamar and Paul McCartney are the other headliners, which suggests Eavis has taken the approach of booking the 2020 lineup if she can. Can't say I'm particularly interested in seeing either of them.
- Caribou are a really good live act so fingers crossed they're booked. They're doing festivals in Europe next summer.
- Confidence Man are Aussies, so it might be tricky for them to travel but they're due to tour the UK in May 2022 so probably a good shout if they make it over. Great fun live and the lead singer is fairly easy on the eye.
- Elbow have a new album coming (single released last week, which I quite like) so I'd guess they'll be there.
- As certain as death and taxes, Fatboy Slim will be there (and Beans on Toast, bloody love that guy).
- Goldfrapp are doing their twice-postponed tour for the 20th anniversary of Felt Mountain in April 2022 (cannot wait), so not completely out of the question that they would be there.
- Sam Fender cancelled last time, so he might want to make up for that.
- London Grammar are touring their latest album in Australia / NZ spring next year, so wouldn't be a surprise if they did the summer festival circuit.
- Queens of the Stone Age have self-confirmed but Josh Homme is having legal issues with his wife and kids (they have a restraining order against him) so who knows.
- Aerosmith have self-confirmed.
Generally speaking, after such a long hiatus I'd expect most acts will want to tour this summer as festivals and gigs are their main income stream. I usually keep an eye on the efestivals.co.uk rumours page as it's usually fairly accurate, but it's down at the moment so there's probably a few others who have self-confirmed or rumoured that I'm not aware of.

Thanks, all very interesting.
I guess Aerosmith will be on The Other Stage? People sometimes forget how big a draw that is - worthy of a mainstage headline at pretty much every other festival. The best gig I've seen in my 30yrs of regular gig going was The Flaming Lips on that stage in 2010.

You’ve got great taste!! I saw the Flaming Lips at the old Academy in Birmingham (formerly the hummingbird) in 2004, the gig was being recorded for Steve Lamacqs R1 show and it was fking amazing. They had loads of props, the stage was packed with dancing animals and 6ft wide balloons and stuff, and all squeezed into a cramped venue that was absolutely heaving. Never seen anything so good before or after. I’ve seen them 4 times now (most recently 2018 in Manchester SU) but that was the first time and they’ve never been quite at the same level. They do put on a reliably great show though every time. PurpleTurtle said:

I think (but I can't remember for sure) that in 2020 Aerosmith were meant to be late afternoon on the Pyramid, possibly on the Saturday, as a sort of additional legends slot. I think that would work quite well and they'd draw a pretty big crowd. I'm not a fan, but I'd probably go and watch for the mass sing-and-cry-along to Don't Want to Miss a Thing. My favourite gig at Glastonbury (and ever) was on the Other Stage too - LCD Soundsystem in 2016. Managed to save my last reserves of energy after trudging through the ludicrous mud all weekend to get down the front and have a dance, and they were 10/10 unbelievable. I honestly don't think I'll ever top it. Strangely though, I don't really like the Other Stage that much - it has a bit of a scatty Leeds/Reading vibe about it, lots of pop/indie landfill acts, feels like a too much of a wide open space and if it's windy the sound gets lost if you're any further back than the sound stage.

Just checked my FB photos and Clashfinder - I watched bit of Coldplay, decided I couldn't face 2hrs of Chris Martin being overly earnest, so went and plonked myself down on a bench at the back of West Holts to watch Earth Wind and Fire who were pretty good, but TBH I was dead on my feet, could not wait to get back to my tent to get some kip! I'm always slightly in awe of those who completely go for it on the last night, knowing they've got to pack up and get out of there next day. Perhaps because I'm old and sensible I take it very easy on the Sunday these days as I can't bear a decamp hangover!

You might be waiting a while on the latter I fear ... Stevie Nicks binned off all touring because of Covid risks so it'll be (at least) 2023 before Fleetwood Mac are back on the road again. snip
At my age Glasto is off target – no appeal. But I'll go anywhere in the UK to see the Mac (first watched them - original band - in 60s, last occasion at Wembley in June 2019). Just to add, re bold above, Stevie has not binned all touring, she had 5 performances to do this year, that's what she's binned or as she put it 'skipped' for now, and she made that point not now, but back in August.
Mick Fleetwood has apparently welcomed a 'reunion' with Lindsey Buckingham. A 'one off reunion' perhaps? Full time reunion? That ain't gonna happen unless Stevie agrees or far, far worse imo, she leaves.
Lindsey currently has a new solo album out but it’s too much ‘countryfied’ afa I’m concerned, so not on my to buy list.
Anyway, the new FM line up is fine with me. It's always evolved over the years.
Not saying I don’t love Buckingham's guitar playing, I was gobsmacked when I first saw him play ‘I’m so Afraid’ in 1976.
But I love Mike Campbell's guitar playing just as much!
I rarely have regrets at Glasto as I always enjoy them but I watched Coldplay over LCD sound system as had never seen the former live and the latter x3
Coldplay were decent cloud pleasing popular stuff and OK, but mates who switched raved about LCD SS
We always go large all 3 nights but we don’t camp and usually leave mid to late pm on Monday after the rush

We watched Coldplay, mainly because I've wanted to but never enough to pay for a ticket (kind of happens a lot with festivals) and enjoyed it up until Mr Eavis came on and completely ruined the vibe. The wristband lights were spectacular though.Coldplay were decent cloud pleasing popular stuff and OK, but mates who switched raved about LCD SS

My biggest mistake was walking all the way from Pyramid stage to Park on Saturday night to watch Philip Glass Hero's symphony, I thought it sounded interesting - it was awful. The only benifit was seeing a bit of new order on the way past but the night was saved by watching Roger Sanchez do his thing close up in NYC Downlow.
Other than, no regrets on choices.

This won't make you feel any better, but I was down the front for LCD SS that year and they were AMAZING. Hand on heart the best gig I've ever been to. Just a quick reminder that it's time to pay up the balance for your tickets this week!
Cheers - paid yesterday. I'm a Buswanker on the coach this year which limits how much booze I can take in, but handily a mate with a caravan is going so I'm gonna get my order in for them to take a load in for me. Driver101 said:
Either I'm out of touch, or that's a really weak line up. There's not a lot of bands I like there and loads I couldn't tell you a single thing they do.
Yep, looks pretty poor to me, we aren't going this year and TBH after seeing that I'm not that bothered, although Glastonbury in itself is a great experience and there is always something to see somewhere.Gassing Station | Music | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
