Sold out in an hour (technical problems so it took longer than usual)

Full weekend ticket for next year was £335 + £5 booking fee! eek
Loads of technical issues, many were booted off the payment page, us included, many managed to get tickets, way after the official announcement that it had sold out!

We (a group of 36 trying for tickets, with husbands, wives, parents and friends helping as well) had all but given up when they said it was sold out. Turned out that announcement was a load of rubbish - we managed to get 18 out of 36 tickets (including mine) after that. Easily the worst we've ever had it in terms of ticket day, the system and See Tickets' website was a shambles. Still, when an event is as oversubscribed as Glastonbury there are always going to be more disappointed people than happy ones, so given that they sold out within an hour I'd say it's still mission accomplished for Glastonbury and See Tickets.

I'd agree to an extent with the suggestion above that the last festival didn't have quite the same special atmosphere - not quite sure why that was, but it did feel a bit over-crowded at certain times. However I am over the moon that I'm going again in 2023! Still the best show on earth and will be 7 in a row for me.

First time we didn’t manage to get any but will hopefully get some in resale when everyone realises they can’t afford them any more!

We got zero out of 20. Would've had 6 but my mate got booted out on his card verification page

0/8 in our group and all of my friends that go every single year struggled as well

Luckily I live in Glastonbury so locals sales might be more fruitful

34 in our syndicate, all got tickets, but it was a nail-biting affair.

All of us were trying, plus friends and family. With those helpers we reckon we had about 60 people attempting to get those those tickets.

Of those 60 people only 6 got to a confirmation page, but that was enough. Some got theirs at nearly 10:30am, quite a while after SeeTickets had said it was sold out, I guess some tickets with failed payments found their way back into the pool.

This is where the whole Seetickets process falls down, because so many people are piling on to help their mates, alas it is sadly a case of 'if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.'

As for Guns 'N' Roses headlining I really cannot see it. They are a shadow of their former selves and Axl is always late. They were utterly abysmal the last time I saw them headline Reading 2010, I feel their ship has long since sailed.

This is the problem in a nutshell, there are now soooo many people trying. We do the same thing I'm not having a go. It could be solved by getting people to pre-register their group then only one person can log in to attempt to buy, but in reality it sells out on 30 mins now so why would they bother. We've been for the last 12 years when it was on so time for someone else to have a turn

Here we are then, 8 days to go and Guns 'N' Roses have the two and a quarter hour Pyramid headline slot on Saturday - shows what I know!! hehe

Which PHers are going then? I couldn't find a 2023 thread so may as well just continue this one. Maybe we should rename it 'The Glastonbury Thread'.

Clashfinder is out, I am busy planning my schedule: https://clashfinder.com/s/g2023

I managed to get TWO tickets this year! One was a coach package on Wednesday, the other was a ticket in the general sale under a second registration. I forfeited the coach for loss of a small deposit so now am going down on Thursday afternoon in my M3 loaded to the gunwhales with beers for all my coach buddies who are going on the Wednesday. Will be nice to arrive to a pre-erected tent!

Frustratingly the area where we normally camp, Wicket Ground to the north of the John Peel stage (now 'Woodsies') is now given over to accessible campervan camping, so we have to find another place to camp. A shame, as a large group of us used to return there year after year, it was a cracking spot.

Just hoping the weather holds now!

The ‘mystery’ slot on Friday is supposed to be the foos

I would recommend Hitchin Hill, camped there for 4 years running. Close enough to the Pyramid but at the edge of the site so quiet and with little passing traffic do the long drops stay relatively clean

No ticket this year despite living in Glastonbury. It's going to be a painful weekend. Hope you all have a lovely time!

Can you not get a 'locals' Sunday day ticket? My pal lives in Bath and does this every year, he loves it. Bussed in and out, has a great time. I know it's not the same but I'd be doing it if I lived locally.

Thanks Tom, that's probably where we are going to head. I don't mind the walk in/out of the action and frankly can't be doing with all the south east corner crowds after midnight, so I prefer that quieter side of the site. I'm normally tucked up in my tent by 1am these days - it's 4 days off parenting a young kid for me so I like to catch up on some kip and not having to be constantly 'on duty'!

No problem, just don't forget to orientate the tent with feet going down, made that mistake the first year and constantly felt like I would roll out of bed

Well I had an amazing time camped in Dairy Ground, we managed to shoehorn 12 tents in for 18 of us, after playing a bit of tent Tetris! Far too many musical highlights to go into until a later post.

Sadly for some people the festival didn’t end so well. I see from one of the Glastonbury FB groups that there were multiple reports of car stripping going on in the car parks, not what you expect when you’ve paid 50 quid to park.

These kind of thefts in festival car parks started at Creamfields a few years back but the problem seems to have migrated south. I hate to generalise, but can only speak as I observed: lots of Scousers hanging around in the car parks hassling people for ‘spare’ tickets, some of them quite aggressively.

I had a chat to a copper on an MTB at Williams Green on Sunday afternoon, he said they had a specific problem this year with ‘people from the north’ trying to get in without tickets and committing crime in the vicinity.

A couple of them were staying in a tent in Abbey park in the centre of Glastonbury having clearly failed to get in on Thursday and had spread faeces covered wet wipes all over the park. Zero respect for anything. I walked straight to the police station and to be fair to them, it must have worked because they were gone along with all their trash.

In answer to why I didn't get a Sunday ticket - I didn't envisage a world in which I wouldn't get a ticket in the resale so I didn't even try to get a Sunday ticket. An error in hindsight!
