Just heard Elton's Island Girl playing on the local radio..

Would it offend today? Guess so.

I see your teeth flash, Jamaican honey so sweet
Down where Lexington cross 47th Street
She's a big girl, she's standing six foot three
Turning tricks for the dudes in the big city

Island girl
What you wanting with the white man's world
Island girl
Black boy want you in his island world
He want to take you from the racket boss
He want to save you but the cause is lost
Island girl, island girl, island girl
Tell me what you wanting with the white man's world

She's black as coal but she burn like a fire
And she wrap herself around you like a well worn tire
You feel her nail scratch your back just like a rake
He one more gone, he one more John who make the mistake.

Probably mentioned it before, can't be arsed to look now, but Pete Green's 'World Keep on Turning' is apt and true.
Would you get away with it today? Probably, few outside the Mac fans realised anyway.

Don't look for no worries, worries and troubles come around
Yes, I don't look for no worries, people, worries and troubles come around
The world keep on turning, I got to keep my feet on the ground

Nobody saw me cryin' - nobody knows the way I feel
Nobody saw me cryin' - nobody knows the way I feel
Yeah, the way I love the woman, it's bound to get me killed

I loved the little girl so good, she made my low down butter come
Loved the little girl so good, she made my low down butter come
I need the woman so bad, I need her like the sky needs the sun

I can't remember their name but back in the day a pop group did a song about the Lone Ranger and Tonto.
Lyrical content included suggestions of drug abuse but also included the following when saying Tonto hadn't seen the Lone Ranger with a woman

Maybe masked man he a pooftah
Try it on with surly Tonto
Let me say to Mr Lawman
Tonto doesn't mind.

You'd never get that past the censors today
Quantum Jump was the band
Available on you tube
The video was on the 'Now 70s' channel, with the band making disgusted faces when the Tonto doesn't mind line came round.

Sick again...Led Zeppelin

Under age groupies:-

From the window of your rented limousine
I saw your pretty blue eyes
One day soon you're gonna reach sixteen
Painted lady in the city of lies
Oh, do you know my name?
Do I look the same?
You know I'm the one you want, babe
I must be the one you need, yeah
Clutching pages from your teenage dream
In the lobby of the Hotel Paradise
Through the circus of the LA queens
How fast your learn the downhill side
Oh, how you like my face?
Still don't know your name
You know I'm the one you want, babe
Oh yes, I must be the one you need, yeah
Oh, you got me feeling
Just a bit, just a bit
Lips like cherries and the brow of a queen
Come on, flash it in my eyes
Said you dug me since you were thirteen
Then you giggle as you heave and sigh
Oh, do you know my name?
Do I look the same?
Baby I gotta tell you, I'm the one you want
And everybody know I'm the one you need, yeah
Oh, give it to me, come on now
Hours, hours, and the moments in between
Oh, baby, I couldn't count the times
The fun of comin', oh the pain in leavin'
Baby, dry those silver eyes
Oh, do you know my name?
Do I look the same?
You know I'm the one you want
Oh yes, I'm the one you need
Oh, that's right, oh, yes that's right
Oh, that's right, that's right, that's right
Oh yeah, that's righ

Jethro Tull. The Pied Piper from Too Old to Rock 'n' Roll: Too Young To Die!

Now if you think Ray blew it, there was nothing to it
They patched him up as good as new
You can see him every day riding down the Queen's Highway
Handing out his small cigars to the kids from school

And all the little girls with their bleached blond curls
Clump up on their platform soles
And they say, "Hey Ray let's ride away
Downtown where we can roll some alley bowls''

And Ray grins from ear to here, and whispers

So follow me, trail along
My leather jacket's buttoned up
And my four-stroke song will pick you up
When your last class ends and you can tell all your friends

The Pied Piper pulled you
The mad biker fooled you
I'll do what you want to
If you ride with me on a Friday anything goes

So follow me, hold on tight
My school girl fancy's flowing in free flight
I've a tenner in my skin tight jeans
You can touch it if your hands are clean

The Pied Piper pulled you
The mad biker fooled you
I'll do what you want to
If you ride with me on a Friday anything goes

So follow me, trail along
My leather jacket's buttoned up
And my four-stroke song will pick you up
When your last class ends and you can tell all your friends

The Pied Piper pulled you
The mad biker fooled you
I'll do what you want to
If you ride with me on a Friday anything goes

The Pied Piper pulled you
The mad biker fooled you
I'll do what you want to
If you ride with me on a Friday anything goes
On a Friday anything goes, on a Friday anything goes

Pied Piper
The mad biker
Pied Piper
The mad biker
Pied Piper
The mad biker

Delilah by Sir Tom Jones.

Some people have tried to ban it recently as it trivialises domestic violence..,.

I was always a bit uncomfortable with the idea of Roy Orbison creeping into somebody's bedroom in 'I drove all night'

I drove all night, crept in your room
Woke you from your sleep to make love to you

Driving all night, with his eyesight and wearing sunglasses? Definitely not advisable.

He probably entered the wrong room. But hey...

Jethro Tull.... Aqualung

Sitting on a park bench... eyeing little girls with bad intent.. Snot running down his nose

Jethro Tull Kissing Willie

Now she's kissing Willie.... My best friend Willie... Willie stands and Willie falls.. Willie hides his head behind grey factopry walls... Now she's kissing

Willie.... My best friend Willie...

I'd definitely be uncomfortable about Roy Orbison creeping into my room; Cyndi Lauper on the other hand...

The original Walk This Way has a pretty raunchy opening verse but this line is a bit grim:
"I met a cheerleader, she was a real young bleeder..."
Run DMC obviously didn't fancy repeating that one as they changed it to:
"Now there's a cheerleader, that's a real big pleaser...."

The nations, not so blest as thee,
Must, in their turns, to tyrants fall;
While thou shalt flourish great and free,
The dread and envy of them all.
"Rule, Britannia! rule the waves:
"Britons never will be slaves."

Still more majestic shalt thou rise,
More dreadful, from each foreign stroke;
As the loud blast that tears the skies,
Serves but to root thy native oak.
"Rule, Britannia! rule the waves:
"Britons never will be slaves."

Thee haughty tyrants ne'er shall tame:
All their attempts to bend thee down,
Will but arouse thy generous flame;
But work their woe, and thy renown.
"Rule, Britannia! rule the waves:
"Britons never will be slaves."

To thee belongs the rural reign;
Thy cities shall with commerce shine:
All thine shall be the subject main,
And every shore it circles thine.
"Rule, Britannia! rule the waves:
"Britons never will be slaves."

The Muses, still with freedom found,
Shall to thy happy coast repair;
Blest Isle! With matchless beauty crown'd,
And manly hearts to guard the fair.
"Rule, Britannia! rule the waves:
"Britons never will be slaves."
