Why do you think a song about sheep shagging would be banned today? Even mainstream chart stuff these days is full of f words with radio edit versions. I do agree though that plenty of examples listed elsewhere on the thread might not pass muster these days - some stuff in the past was borderline paedophilia.

What about Smack my bh up?, cant see them playing that at the HoC Christmas party.

Or what about some plus size comments from Freddie...

But I knew love before I left my nursery
Left alone with big fat Fanny
She was such a naughty nanny
Heap big woman, you made a bad boy out of me.

Or some of Bon's baw talk...

Some balls are held for pleasure and some for fancy dress,
but when they're held for pleasure they're the balls that i like best,
my balls are always bouncing, to the left and to the right,
its my belief that my big balls should be held every night.

Tonight’s The Night by R Stewart esquire:

Come on angel my hearts on fire
Don't deny your man's desire
You'd be a fool to stop this tide
Spread your wings and let me come inside
Tonight's the night
It's gonna be alright
'Cause I love you girl
Ain't nobody gonna stop us now
Don't say a word my virgin child
Just let your inhibitions run wild
The secret is about to unfold
Upstairs before the night's too old

‘Spread your wings so I can come inside’ yeah rightio Rod.... smile

Patti Smith’s rather wonderful commentary on social and artistic alienation would, if I set out the lyrics here, probably result in a ban of some sort wink

The Killers

Now I'm falling asleep
And she's calling a cab
While he's having a smoke
And she's taking a drag
Now they're going to bed
And my stomach is sick
And it's all in my head
But she's touching his chest now
He takes off her dress now

The Rolling Stones. Stray Cat Blues.

There’ll be a feast if you just come upstairs, but it’s no hanging matter, it’s no capital crime. I can see that you’re 15 years old, no I don’t want your ID.

Neil Sedaka - Sweet 16:
Tra la-la-la-la la-la-la-la
Happy birthday sweet sixteen

Tonight's the night I've waited for
Because you're not a baby anymore
You've turned into the prettiest girl I've ever seen,
Happy birthday sweet sixteen
What happened to that funny face
My little tomboy now wears satins and lace
I can't believe my eyes you're just a teenage dream
Happy birthday sweet sixteen
When you were only six I was your big brother
Then when a you were ten we didn't like each other
When you were thirteen You was a funny valentine
But since you've grown up Your future is sewn up
From now on you're gonna be mine, so
If I should smile with sweet surprise
It's just that you've grown up before my very eyes
You've turned into the prettiest girl I've ever seen
Happy birthday sweet sixteen

Although until the 80’s pretty much every other song seemed to be about young girls.
Cringing just reading it. Wasn't there another about she was too young to fall in love and I was too young to know? Try passing that off as an excuse today! laugh

As a counterpoint, here is Gene's lyrics about (I presume) an unhealthy obsession with looking like your idol that you'd never be able to sing today without being lynched by News of the World readers:

I know you
You're the one with everything
So give me your child's body
Make it small and make it real
If the dress fits
Why can't I wear it
As the scars start to ache
How much more can I take?
What I'd go through
To look like you
Why can't I have it?
I want to be just like you
For a minute would do
Everything here has changed
I'm on my own again
I really do need a friend
But everything here has changed
