Incredible isn’t it ? I think that’s my number one of all time.
One of my most favourite tracks, the end solo is just so good. Can thoroughly recommend Aussie Floyd if anyone wants to experience it live.

Haven't read the entire thread but to change the mood a little what about the sublime and unique sound of Willie Nelson. He absolutely becomes one with 'Trigger' in 'Funny how time slips away'

Peter Greens rendition of ‘I’ve got a good mind to give up living’ is a sure fire winner for me.

Might not be a true solo, and definitely not as fast or visually technical as the majority of the posts on here, but god damn it did this man have magic in his fingertips. Enough to get compliments from B.B.King no less.

That magic starts at 2:25, hold on tight, it gets heavy cool

The late, great, Gary Moore improvises some rock, blues and jazz when interviewed by Guitarist magazine some years ago:-

Go to 5:38 for a fire breathing blues blues improvisation (that sets off a car alarm hehe ) using a rather lovely ES-335

Peter Green was a genius - my particular favourite is 'Need your love so bad'. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_HTUah3ivIo

Absolutely agree, another great track showcasing his ability to play with the ‘less is more’ approach cool

And in recognition of the inclusion (again) of Gary Moore to the thread (a few posts above), here's Gary Moore covering Need Your Love so Bad.

An excellent rendition, but Green's was the pinnacle.

It's a shame I don't like country, because it has produced some terrifying players.

Here's Chet Atkins and Jerry Reed trading solos with all the ego of someone passing you the milk.
