Mick Jagger is pretty terrible.

Adele has fairly dodgy pitch and her diction is horrendous.

Ozzy. Cant sing.
Agree, but somehow Sabbath wouldn't have worked so well with a more traditionally 'good' vocalist.
This is true. Imperfections can add character and emotion that otherwise would be lost. Note perfect vocalists and technically perfect guitarists leave me a bit cold

yes

Dio is clearly a better vocalist, and the two Dio Sabbath albums are good in their own way, but they just aren't Sabbath somehow.

Singer who made it and latterly became utterly shocking - Paul McCartney.

Never the strongest singer, but in recent years, he should not have been allowed out of the pub.
From 2012 Olympics onwards - just say no.

I think this is really for the other thread about singers who have deteriorated a lot.

McCartney in his prime was an outstanding singer. Enormous range, superb pitch, and the ability to sing in many different styles.

Apologies, I had not seen the other thread... will head over there now, thanks.

Gaga the pop queen? the jazz singer? the country singer? She's a multi-talented dark horse, that one, and IMHO has a damn fine voice.

Oh my god. Brian Johnson is awful. It is very obvious he can't sing a note and is just 'putting on' what he thinks is a heavy metal voice. If he was a comedian singing like that to take the piss out of rock music, you would think he was hilarious.

This.

She is a very clever girl. She knows that pop is the best way to get the fame and the money, and once she's obtained enough of both, she will slide off into other musical styles that she really wants to do.

I've been in a small venue watching her play the piano and sing Jazz, and she was brilliant.

Very talented. Don't be fooled by the disco-pop stuff that she churns out.

No worries, and Macca is a good candidate for that one, sadly.

I have mixed feelings about singers who are over the hill continuing. It's no fun to hear Mccartney struggling but I figure someone who has given the world as much incredible music as that man can damn well carry on until he decides when to stop. We don't have to listen, and we can always dig out the old stuff. smile

Bruce Springsteen, I don’t dislike his music but it is good despite his vocals not because of them.

Couldn’t agree more. I have to change channel if one of their songs come on the radio.

My Mrs only realised last year that his Santa Claus Is Coming To Town wasn't a parody song.
