Rod Stewart.
Massive Rod fan here.

He's not been great for over twenty years now, he had a nasty throat cancer scare several years ago which didn't help.

You can't expect a 70yr old to be as good as he was in his twenties.

Ian Brown was the first to spring to mind, doesn’t stop me loving his music though (solo and Roses).

Florence Welch I genuinely can’t listen to though on many songs, can’t stand her sing-cum-shouting style, her cover/murder of ‘You got the love’ being the prime example.

Chris Rea

Mark Knopfler

Both have less than average vocals, but at least MK redeems that fault with utterly delicious guitar work

Bruce Springsteen, I don’t dislike his music but it is good despite his vocals not because of them.
Been saying this for years. Good songwriter, mediocre performer. As evidenced by the fact that ever single cover version of one of his songs is an improvement on the original.

I’ve seen Bob Dylan mentioned here, and Johnny Cash too, I’m no arbiter of voices, but whether you like them or not, their voices, (to me), suit the songs that they sing.
I have a great deal of respect for the poster Paul Guitar, not least because showbiz is his game, and I tend to believe that he knows what he’s talking about on the subject.
He says that Adèle has horrendous diction, I’m not in a position to judge, (singing wise), but perhaps Paul is influenced by her London accent, but that’s doubtful.
I’m inclined to believe Paul when he says that she has dodgy pitch, he’ll know about these things, but I don’t hear it, I think that when she sings, her songs are fantastic to listen to.

Why thank you, Frank. beer

I agree both Dylan and Johnny Cash suited the songs they sang, without having perhaps traditionally great voices. There are certain Dylan songs that have been covered and sung technically better than he could do them, and yet I tend to enjoy his own versions best. It's hard to imagine anyone else singing something like 'Hurricane', for example, and doing it with quite the same curious mixture sincere feeling and insouciance.

I'm afraid I struggle with Adele's singing, but I think she's a talented songwriter.

Funnily enough they didn't start out that way they sang in full voice, it was only Barry doing the falsetto and that started with Staying Alive at the urging of the producer, sadly he stuck with it.

Hard to argue with an outfit that had No.1s in each of the four decades they existed, check out their very early stuff such as Claustrophobia & Peace Of Mind recorded here in Sydney when they were teenagers,

Strangely enough Paul, after the enemy hit the hay, I turned off the TV and listened to RTL online for a while, suddenly Bob Dylan popped up, singing “Forever Young.”
I began to think, “maybe young Paul was right!”

I'll nominate Jessie J. I enjoyed "Price Tag" and bought her debut album on that basis.

Nails down a blackboard.

Also: Sean Paul. Regularly as a "featured" artist, regularly seemingly trying to ruin everything he's "featured" on.

Bowie. Ruins everyone of his songs by sounding like a bad karaoke singer on them.

Also Sam Smith, such a nasally lazy singing voice that I think sounds terrible.
