Ditto; we saw a couple of concerts he conducted a few years back and my wife came down the aisle to one of his tunes played on the organ. Wonderful music. RIP.

Was it the theme from "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly"?

The man as a composer for scores was immense, dare i say it for me even bigger than John Williams, darker and more interesting.

His scores will live on in my life forever.

once upon a time in the west is true genius, the score makes the film, which is also magnificent and stand above many similar films in my opinion.

it was - along with a lot of other Sergio Leone films (apparently they were school friends)

I assume Eric Mc was referring to my wedding comment... It was Gabriel’s Oboe actually smile Although the one he suggested could have been more amusing.

There was a photo on the news last night of Morricone and Leone almost side-by-side as young school boys; I had no idea they went back that far.

Indeed, a film i watch every year in a dark quiet room, just brilliant.

He created some amazing work for decades, top of his game genius.
