Foo foghters?
I mean they are epic and huge already but the smash Green Day / linkin park
Boney M
Just skimming through this thread to see what suggestions there are. This post made me laugh. I mean they are epic and huge already but the smash Green Day / linkin park
Boney M
Don’t get me wrong I love the Foo Fighters; I’ve seen them 4 times over the past 20 years, but what I can’t get my head around is the suggestion that they should’ve been bigger
I mean where do you start with that? How “big” could they be?
I think Boney M were also quite the big hit back in those crazy 1970’s.
Agree with Jellyfish, from previous poster.
Most under-rated band? Has to be Gentle Giant in my book!

Having recently discovered Steven Wilson's music and back catalogue. Porcupine Tree should have been much bigger and well known, some amazing albums and excellent production. Their live dvds/blu rays are incredible, great sound and musicianship.

I agreeOceansize, another near miss for the same reasons with the added problem that they never worked out what the vocals were for.
It's always a pleasure to discover new to me music, so a big thank you to previous posters for some fabulous suggestions.
No mention yet of Silversun Pickups.

At The Drive In, they splintered into Mars Volta, but ATDI were the band I thought should have launched them, one of the greatest opening album tracks:-

I was about to post the same - I saw GG several times at the City Hall Newcastle in the late 70's and their virtuosity was on another level to most other prog bands of the timeMost under-rated band? Has to be Gentle Giant in my book!

However their music is not easily accessible which probably accounts for the failure to be recognised by those beyond the cognoscenti.
The only band, besides his own, I've ever heard Zapper be complimentary about
