I have booked
The Killers, supported by Manic Street Preachers
Which one are you going to? I'm at the Bristol one. The Killers, supported by Manic Street Preachers
Seen the Killers 6 times, always excellent. Seen Manic Street Preachers 10+ times, again always superb (the best one was the Holy Bible Tour which we saw at the Roundhouse)

I've never seen The Killers but have seen the Manics eight times now, the last three times since September. Should be a great gig.

Excellent, looks like I see them a couple of days before you.

Best place to see the Manics is Cardiff or Newport, as local boys there is even more energy in the audience than usual. Will never happen again I suspect, but even better, was the time purely by accident when was visiting Blackwood (their home town) and they played in the working mens club there. Only about 200 people but an amazing gig.I've never seen The Killers but have seen the Manics eight times now, the last three times since September. Should be a great gig.

Last night went to see Madness with Squeeze supporting, (who were the main reason for going). The wife and myself thought it might be a bit of fun reliving our youth and seeing what the nutty boys were like now. Fortunately (as expected) Sqeeze were excellent, Glen Tilbrook was as good as ever. I used to follow him on his tour of solo acoustic nights in small pubs a few years ago.
However, Madness were shockingly poor . Its the first time I've ever thought about leaving before the finish, we did stay till the end but left as they returned for an encore. Thank god Squeeze rescued the night

Used to stagedive at Snuff gigs 30 years ago, best gigs of my life!!
Me too, I'm slightly too old for that nowI'll certainly be in the mosh pit.
I do a lot of last minute gigs... Since September, I've made up for lost time this year and seen the following:
The Sisters of Mercy - a better setlist than usual.
Bauhaus - only the 2nd time I've seen them, and as great as expected.
Soft Cell - again, 2nd time seeing them. Marc's voice still has it!!
Squarepusher - My brother's influence. I'm not too familiar with SP but it didn't matter, I'd go again.
Dave Gahan and Soulsavers - One of the best frontmen I've ever seen, whether here or with his other band. I really didn't expect to hear Personal Jesus. Not my favourite DM song, but still gig of the year!
I did also make it to End of the Road Festival, so not a bad year considering everything.
Nothing else for 2021.

I saw Madness back in the '80s and they were pretty awful then. I actually left the hall (Poole Arts Centre) to go to the bar part way through for a while - Pretty sure I've never done that at any other gig.I've read people raving about them since and figured they must have improved as they got older, but I've never bothered to go and see them.
For me, after the first album (or even during it) they became a novelty act, but there is some good stuff on that album.
I saw Squeeze a few years back and they were good, although I enjoyed a Glenn Tillbrook solo gig more.

Thats just what we thought, might be a bit of a 'fun show' but crikey they were awful. The real reason for going though was Squeeze and they were really good ( as expected) as I've seen Glen Tilbrook loads of times locally in small pub venues doing his acoustic gigs just playing any requests and having folks from the audience do duets with him. Real nice guy.I've read people raving about them since and figured they must have improved as they got older, but I've never bothered to go and see them.
