Thomas Newman.

Pretty much all of his.

Apart from Schindlers List which is a masterclass, never yet matched IMHO.

Agreed, 'Shawshank Redemption' was amazing I thought. His cousin Randy has written some rather great film music too, 'The Natural' in particular I think is exceptional.

As to John Williams, just an extraordinary body of work.

We’re there any soundtracks before FG that utilised so much speech from a movie ?

Good to see Ennio Morricone getting a few mentions. I saw him live in Stockholm in January 2019. One of the best concerts I've been to. "Ecstasy of Gold" performed live with Ennio conducting was amazing.

However, I'd like to nominate "The Mission" as his best work. He should have won the Oscar for that by a mile but was robbed by Herbie Hancock.

Great call. Burn is one of my favourite Cure tracks.

I have a soft spot for the Original Jungle Book soundtrack too. getmecoat

A lot of good stuff already listed - Restless Natives, and The Crow are two personal favourites. I'd probably throw in some of these:

Blackball
Good Morning Vietnam
Da Vinci Code, and its sequels
Natural Born Killers
