Royal Blood.

Everything was played at about 80% of album speed, and the singer/bass player kept making a really big deal about how good their drummer is, having him play fills and solos, the drummer's standing up, doing all the showboating etc.

But he's really not anything special in the grand scheme of things. Was a bit cringe.

where did you see them. I saw them supporting Foo Fighters a number of years ago at MK bowl and they were pretty good then

Not a band but took my wife to see Emile Sande at Portsmouth Guildhall a couple of years ago. The venue didn't help as with the complete lack of staging and very poor bright lights it felt like a bad school production and i am sure that many school kids would not have screeched and warbled as badly as she did. Left half way through...truly awful!

Jeeze, didn’t expect to see this. I saw them at Leicester O2 (capacity is 1400!) in 2017 and it was fantastic. They opened with a tribute to Chris Cornell too, which was a nice touch. Strange about the show boating thing though. We didn’t get that kind of thing.

Yeah, was disappointing, guessing they were just having an off night. The sounds was pretty st, but I'm not blaming that on them.

Loved the first album, the second one, not so much, but was really looking forward to that show.

On a tangent, what happened to them? I appreciate they were a bit of a novelty act but they went from being huge festival headliners from not being heard of again and complete radio silence as well - almost like it was a guilty secret the music world wanted to hush up!
Split up for a bit due to drugs but re-formed some time ago and still going, albeit with smaller fanbase.
Justin rejoined the band 10 years ago, the drummer is now Rufus Taylor, son of Queens drummer Roger Taylor.

Speaking of Queen I was almost expecting them to appear in here, but other than one comment in praise thankfully (as a fan) they don’t. Live they were quite a different band from their studio sound given it was just the four of them and a keyboard player when Freddie got bored of playing keyboards. I was expecting complaints that they didn’t sound like the records, which is maybe why they were great live.

Guns N Roses a couple of years back in London. I went as my brother was a fan, I wasn’t. I was hoping I would be won over; I wasn’t. Absolute tripe.
fck me are they still flogging it? Of course they are I know people who'd have been there.

They played at a donningon sometime about mid noughties, they were so bad I quite literally fell over laughing. axl rose had Seb back doing vocals, It was genuinely side splitting. Decided to split packed gear went home turned on internet and got "riots at download festival"

The Olympic stadium one in 2017? I was there; tripe is harsh but I do think the experience varied by where you were
That’s the one. Each to their own, but it was a miserable evening. The two hour wait to get out of the multi storey car park was more enjoyable.

They are still that bad. At least they’re consistent!

I consider myself to have pretty eclectic musical tastes, but anything other than "Heaven" (her self-professed tribute to Unfinished Sympathy and none the worse for that) just sounds droney and boring, there's nothing else of hers that I have heard since that I would listen to twice. Dare I say "overrated"?

Mike Muir just pacing around the stage of the Kentish Town Forum waffling on about how crazeeee he was, with the odd song thrown in.
hehe Not surprising. Though this could apply to many a hardcore band at Kentish!
Was that the one where they played the encore at the beginning and then walked off - I vaguely recall a guitar solo being played while on a stepladder?

No, it was fairly normal, just rubbish. And Muir talked waaaaay too much between songs.

I wish Emile Sande would do the world a favour and resume her medical studies.

As a young stupid person went to see Black Veil Brides after they were decent supporting Murderdolls with The Defiled (both excellent and Defiled great at their own gig). Short and poor. Disappointed.

RE Slipknot mentioned earlier. 2020 apart from my phone being nicked both shows I saw them at were great (Manchester and Sheffield)

Its just come to me, one THE most disappointing gigs was one of my earliest...

I was huge Rainbow fan, went to see them play Wembley Arena on the Down to Earth tour....

Gig was going pretty well, huge Cozy Powell solo (Im honoured to have seen that). and then allegedly, Ritchie Blackmore had the hump and they went off stage after about 70 minutes....

The crowd trashed the venue needless to say......

I was so disappointed.

Agree, Heaven was excellent and everything else at best background music (other than a few collaborations). However from her reputation i expected her to be able to sing. Overrated doesn't some near to emphasising just how bad she was!

Yes, I seem to recall that RB had a reputation for being a prima Donna... could don't show enough love/appreciation for his genius and that's it no encore etc
