Going to see The Waterboys at Middlewich Folk and Boat Festival. Music, canals and beer - and sunshine hopefully!
Photo appears to have been taken from outside my old office.I've bought a ticket for Big Country in Nantwich on Thursday night. I last saw them at Reading Festival in 1983, so I thought it was about time.

I'm off to see Ghost in London tomorrow night, can't wait. Going to be epic, never seen them before.
Guarantee you’ll end the night with a grin on your face. Seen them a few times now and they always put on a great show. One of the highlights will always be the ghouls comedy arguments on stage, really funny. And get ready for Miasma……

I thought that in 1990!
It was the only time I went to a Stadium gig - I won't go to another, but it was an experience I enjoyed as a one off.
It was still the 'famous' line-up of Jagger, Richard, Watts, Wyman and Woods back then. Wyman left after this tour and sadly Charlie's gone too, now.
Still, they seemed to be enjoying themselves a few years back in Cuba, so hopefully, it'll still be a good show.
I'm off to see Bastille in Bournemouth tonight.

I saw them at the O2 (Greenwich) on Thursday 7th April. I'm not the Bastille fan as much as my wife is, but I thought they were on great form. The tracks from Give Me The Future were already very familiar as they've been playing on repeat in the car every time my wife is in with me. And the "greatest hits" tracks were immense. Nothing to complain about at all.
Support from The Native was great too. Loved them, and although I'd never heard them before their stuff felt swiftly familiar. My new favourite "I first found them supporting... x" band I think. Shades of We Are The Ocean, and Big Sixes in the vocals. Very "indie" but in all the best ways. Jack Garratt though? Not bad, just not as much "my thing" as The Native and Bastille.
Next up for me is YNOT festival in Derbyshire, and also Rammstein and Green Day in the same week, both rearranged (more than once I think) from the Covid cancellation pandemic. We're both in our 50s and my wife is now wondering if she (we) have the stamina to go to two gigs like that within a couple of days. There's even been talk of selling one set of tickets, but we can't decide which set. Three for Green Day as my son was meant to come with us but he's flown to Japan before the rearranged gig. And two tickets for Rammstein, which was more for him than for us and again the cancellations/postponements mean that he's no longer in the country. We've seen Green Day several times already but never been to see Rammstein, so should probably go to see ze Germans really. But my wife fears that things might be a bit too lively" for us there...

My only criticism was the venue more than the band, we were in one of the front rows of seating so had a great view but a couple of screens either side wouldn't have gone amiss. Still one of my favourite gigs!
Roll on Amon Amarth/Machine Head and Clutch later in the year.

Pull yourself together man. I think we have a several months run in the summer there isn't an empty week. The only thing this year lacks so far is a proper music festival.I saw them at the O2 (Greenwich) on Thursday 7th April. Rammstein are epic and everyone should see them. And I get the feeling, can't say exactly why, they won't be around for much longer.

I'll be honest, it looked great, but it didn't sound that good.I saw them at the O2 (Greenwich) on Thursday 7th April. Dan was clearly struggling with his voice at times, he missed notes (you could see his frustration) and he commented about half way through that his voice was going.
I'm not a massive Bastille fan, but I like some of their stuff.
It does seem a bit of a one-man show, though, he never introduced any of the musicians, just the female backing singers.
Not terrible, but certainly not one of my favourite concerts.
The Native were good for a support act and we had Dylan as the second support act and I thought she was really good in a 'rock chick' meets Taylor Swift kind of way.
If I'm honest, I'd say the support acts and the visual effects saved the evening for me.
Since then, I went to a CD pre-release event by Wet Leg at Pryzm in Kingston and they did a short, but enjoyable, gig (No complaints here, it was £15 for the ticket and the CD, which is surprisingly good!)
My plans continue to change, the Keep Dancing Inc (A French electronic group) gig I was going to in May has been canned completely, but changes in some other plans mean I can now go and see Stereo MCs in Reading next week after all, which I'm looking forward to.
I've also bought a ticket to see 10CC - I was a big fan of theirs before punk hit the scene and changed my musical outlook, but in recent years I've rediscovered their albums. For a few years now I've dithered over going to see them live, knowing that only Graeme Gouldman remains from the original lineup, but I listened to a concert recording of theirs and read up on the current lineup and most were with the band in the latter days that I followed them, so I decided I'd give it a go, even though it's all seated and I'll probably still be one of the youngest people there!

Two at the Tunbridge Wells Forum;
- Gaz Coombes (Supergrass) tomorrow
- The Wedding Present in May (tickets purchased March 2020!)
If I can find a last minute ticket, Teenage Fanclub at Islington Union Chapel on Tuesday.
The Beat (Dave Wakeling’s incarnation) at Nottingham Rock City in July.

What was 'biblical' about it? I was considering getting tickets for Manchester... .
One of the few bands I go and see and then curse that I didn't book more venues.Impera is a stonker of an album, especially if you've a long history with 80's hair metal and arena style power ballads. It's always a 'show' rather than just a gig with Ghost.
I went to see The Stereo MCs on Wednesday evening.
They're not my usual style of music at all, to be honest, but I've always liked them and I was looking forward to it.
Long story short, they were excellent.
In contrast to Bastille who had a big flash set and almost no stage presence, Rob and his female singer were unshowy, but charismatic and had the audience onside right from the off.
One of the best gigs I've been to in a long time.
Next up is St Vincent at Hammersmith O2 at the end of June and I've added Nerina Pallot at the Boiler Room in Guildford in October.
