Mate of mine got free tickets for Alice Cooper / The Cult at Manc last night so we went along (more for the Cult).
Thought I an Astbury's voice was excellent but overall it felt and looked like they plodded through.
Never been a fan of Alice Cooper. Bubblegum Rock IMO. Didn't disappoint, we left after song 2.
IMO venue was too big for them. 3rd tier was curtained off and no screens so you ended up watching ants from a distance.
Saw those on Hot Deals, free for Blue Light card holders. Could have gone, had no desire to watch Alice Cooper but was mildly interested in The Cult. Glad I stayed at home then!Thought I an Astbury's voice was excellent but overall it felt and looked like they plodded through.

Going to Weezer / Fall Out Boy / Green Day on 29th June in Glasgow, then Guns n Roses (support by Phil Campbell and the bd Sons) on 5th July - both in Bellahouston Park.
Both gigs rescheduled from 2020.
see you at guns!! can’t wait for it, been a long time coming. I’ve seen them in dublin and berlin on this recent tour, but looking forward to a day out in glasgow, think about 10 of my friends have tickets. Both gigs rescheduled from 2020.
Also going to see red hot chilli peppers on the friday before

Heading off to see Springsteen in Gothenburg next year - lovely city, tickets were available and there are no plans to play the UK in 2023 anyway. Really looking forward to it; haven't seen him live since The River tour in 1981.
UK dates will be announced later… bit frustrating they didn’t announce the whole tour at the same time to keep options open. Away trips for gigs are good - I might get tickets for Paris on sale tomorrow as the UArena is brilliant, and guaranteed dry, abzmike said:

Tempeted by going to Edinburgh in August to see Simple Minds again, as they were simply brilliant in Aberdeen in April.

Slam Dunk in Leeds on Friday.
Dropkick Murphy's & Sum 41 are going to be a highlight for me. Talk about taking me back to my youth!
I'm going to SD South (Hatfield) on Saturday. Coincidentally the Dropkicks were the last band I saw pre-lockdown (late Feb 20) and I've not been to a gig since. Pennywise, the band I want to see most again. My brother will want to see Sum 41, I'll head over for Alexisonfire who're on just before.Dropkick Murphy's & Sum 41 are going to be a highlight for me. Bad Religion at Kentish town on Friday, so a decent weekend in store.

PIL coming to Nottingham in June. Over the years I’ve come to admire John Lydon so seeing him live is on the cards.
I saw PiL in 1979, cracking gig. Beer, spit, sweat and other stuff flying about. Lydon is a master showman.Quick video I took............
Apart from an Adam And The Ants tribute band in my village hut (three quid a ticket including a can of cider) not seen a band since Covid.
But I did buy tickets ages ago for Dianna Ross at Cardiff Castle this Friday. Always been on my bucket list and think it will be quite emotional for me.

Go see the real Adam Ant and don’t be even slightly embarrassed about it as he still puts he work in 100% and when he delvs into his pre Top of the Pops post punk song book it all sounds as urgent and charged and edgy as it was at conception …….and much of his later stuff that went more mainstream still stands up when the live environment strips away the over production Viv le Rock indeed…
