Gig Plans - 2022

Was supposed to be seeing Interpol at the Camden Roundhouse last night.
Found out 15 minutes before doors opening that due to illness the show was cancelled!?
At the venue the staff outside didn’t even know at first and then eventually confirmed it, but they said the first they knew was the band’s social media post just before doors.
So many unhappy people outside, lots had travelled miles, hotels, days off work etc. Understand these things happen and it must have been really bad to pull the show, but 15 minutes before doors opening felt a bit like a kick in the …….
Poor souls at the front of the queue had been there hours so they could get to the front.

After having seen them support the Manics at Wembley Arena last December, I watched Public Service Broadcasting (supported by Ani Glass) last month in Bath Forum.
Fantastic live, so have booked to see their last two dates on their forthcoming tour, Oxford & Bournemouth.
Also planning on getting to see Professor Green too having got into his music quite late.

Last night Iron Maiden were absolutely fantastic but i also quite liked Shinedown who were their support.
Gerry Cinnamon is also playing the same venue on thursday and whilst i've never really listened to much of his music, what i have heard i've enjoyed.
Shinedown are excellent. Got into them after seeing them support Maiden a few years back.Gerry Cinnamon is also playing the same venue on thursday and whilst i've never really listened to much of his music, what i have heard i've enjoyed.
They are touring the UK later this year as the headline - 02 Academy sized venues.

Simply Red tomorrow night, Blenheim Palace, outside.
Not a massive fan but like some of their stuff. Watched a couple of recent live shows on youtube & he can still sing!
Should be a nice evening.
I was actually discussing simply red earlier today, we saw them a few years ago when we went to the classic in Belgium to see Bruce Springsteen. Not a massive fan but like some of their stuff. Watched a couple of recent live shows on youtube & he can still sing!

I'll fully admit I've never really been a simply red fan but to give Mick his due he put on a decent show and most of the songs you just knew so with a bit of Belgian ale as lubrication you could help but sing along.
I wouldn't pay to see him but when included on a line up it was a decent hour or so's entertainment.
Was a nice evening for it, a great concert, would definitely see again.
Trying to get out of the place after was a different story though!

So, two gigs screwed for next week, including the Snuff show that was originally due to take place in May 2020 & has been postponed over & over due to fking covid. Thanks RMT.
I'll get tickets for The Bouncing Souls at The Underworld in August & Be Well are playing their first UK tour in October, so I'll probably go and see them.

I saw that on the Roundhouse Facebook page, some very disgruntled fans, understandably.Found out 15 minutes before doors opening that due to illness the show was cancelled!?

Wonder if the band had copped for the sts and couldn't go on?
This happened to The Wonder Stuff the other night - they had to pull the set early because two of the members were about to have 'an accident' and just couldn't go on, had to race off stage!
Front row seats for skunk anansie at the r.festival hall last Friday, awesome.
Another busy week, NIN at Brixton, Chris Mcglade (comedian) on sat then Rammstein on Sunday. This has turned into one of the best years for gigs ever!
Flippin tube strikes not helpful for NIN, at least being a relatively modest venue and a Tuesday night, a cab shouldn't be impossible.

I've quite a few (some moved from 2021, one from 2020!) lined up already.
February 2022 - Belle & Sebastian - Guildhall, Southampton
February 2022 - London Calling (Clash tribute) - Boileroom, Guildford
March 2022 - Bastille - BIC, Bournemouth
April 2022 - Stereo MCs - Sub89, Reading
May 2022 - Keep Dancing Inc - Boileroom, Guildford
June 2022 - St Vincent - Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith
July 2022 - The Beat (Dave Wakeling) - Boileroom, Guildford
Sure a few more will drop in as time goes by, although I suspect when we're in lockdown 253 and my arm makes me look like a heroin junkie, a few more will be moved to 2035...
