Gig Plans - 2022

So Rammstein.
I’d not bought a ticket initially, but thanks to them rescheduling twice my lads mate was on holiday so gave me his standing ticket. I confess, I have the odd song on my playlist but nothing more.
Coventry last night. Absolutely no words to describe that spectacle. One of, if not the best, show I’ve ever been to. I have never seen so much smoke and fire. From a keyboard player who spent almost the entire gig on a treadmill to a backpack of fireworks on the lead singer. Spent most of my evening turning to the lad and asking WTF?!
I’d go again in a heartbeat.
Agree with all of that! I was there too, first time I've seen them live and what a spectacle - Greta wouldn't approve of all those pollutants, so it was a wonderful joyful counterpoint to virtue signalling at GlastonburyI’d not bought a ticket initially, but thanks to them rescheduling twice my lads mate was on holiday so gave me his standing ticket. Whilst the band were great entertainers and I really enjoyed watching them, I think a special mention has to go out to the staff and management of the Coventry Building Society Arena (or whatever it its called at the moment). This is the first time I've been there, and the organisation and customer service could, charitably, be described as simply abysmal. No one seemed to know or care what was going on with directions, seating, merch (WTF, really was that all about), and in particular, the taxi situation and traffic management when it finished. Queues, queues and more. I was surprised that there wasn't any trouble developing towards the end, and if you were towards the end of the taxi queue I hope you eventually got home ok. On the plus side, the beer situation was definitely more positive. In summary, Coventry Arena, you and your kids on work experience, sorry, staff, suck massive hairy salty dirty hobo balls and I won't be coming back to the venue - tarnished an otherwise great night.

biffy clyro last night at ingleston (big top) in edinburgh. I think i’m getting close to having seen them about 10 times now, but they are bloody good live!
the big top tent was a great little set up for a gig. bar queues were fine and seemed enough toilets to go round. only complaint was lothian busses, who put on specific busses for the gig, they were due to leave city centre at 6:20, but the first band was only at 6:45! bit crap and i didn’t see the first band!
next stop- red hot chilli peppers (supported by anderson paak!) on friday!

At one point they closed all the entrances to pitch standing other than 2. It led to huge queues trying to get onto the floor because they weren't letting anyone down there. Chances of even seeing what merchandise was on the stalls was zero as the queue was about 200 deep at all the stands. It was very similar to My Chemical Romance at MK Dons last month in terms of queues and inability to actually buy merchandise, though the toilet queues were a whole lot better.
Looking at your pic, there were 2 lads with a beer cart on the pitch just under where you took that photo and that was always empty.
When trying to leave they opened a door directly out off the pitch by the stage, but then refused to move a barrier so others could walk out that way and ease the congestion up the steps, so unless you were in that area you couldn't utilise what would have been a simpler exit.
The lad and I had decided to leave the stadium after and try and walk as far away as we could to meet our lift, but unfortunately daughter in law thought she would be helpful and parked up on the retail park by Boots. That was where the taxi queue was as well and where it took an hour and a half to get off the park. Honestly thought there was going to be a punch up with one of the taxi drivers who kept pushing in, much to the annoyance of the lads in the car next to him.
I'd love to know how much it costs to stage that thing. I was chatting to a worker last night who told me construction was a full 5 days, with two 12 hour shifts working 24 hours to put it up, hence the riggers appearing and starting dismantling within minutes of the shows end. I think he said they had 17 trucks outside to house it all. Greta and Rammstein would not get on I feel
This was my first Rammstein gig, and I'm really looking forward to seeing them again.
Great as though the band was, my favourite moment has to be when they were showing individual members of the crowd on the display. Everyone was cheering at 80's moustache guy and booing whenever he wasn't on. I was almost in tears of laughter https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FPQBz74MXaU. He was spotted again on the way out and ended up with thousands cheering for him again.

Another one who had a great time at Coventry, despite the best efforts of the venue.
An honourable mention for the ticket deliveries being changed from post to print at home on Tuesday, then those also being wrong and needing to re-print them again on Thursday. I mean they only had 3 years to get them sent out!

I've watched that twice already this morning, so funny. Great as though the band was, my favourite moment has to be when they were showing individual members of the crowd on the display. The reaction of the woman that just tries to sink out of view too.....
The Rammstein show was awesome, never, ever seen anything like it.
Really enjoyed the Feuerzone, but I do wonder if it was perhaps a bit too close to take in the whole spectacle.
Seems I had a lucky exit after it ended, was back home in Derby, with a pitstop for McDonalds en route (was going to get food at the venue, didn't fancy the queues), by midnight

There's a lot of work goes into setup...GloverMart said:

Seen them many times and several countries, from France (stade de nimes biatches) to latvia, but Coventry was a first and firmly secures the trophy for the mostest-just-dont-ever-bother place doesn't it.
Great gig though.

They have 2 stages. The stage at Coventry will not be in Cardiff I don't think.
I got a great view from seating in 2019 but the Feuerzone is better to witness the gig 100%
I was stood by one of the rigs before the show and talking to one of the SFX Crew, he told me it was going to Cardiff, hence the urgency of the riggers pulling it down.I got a great view from seating in 2019 but the Feuerzone is better to witness the gig 100%
