Yes, thanks all. And whilst I am veering a bit from trance to deeper house/electronica, this thread delivers by starting late night Tidal rabbit holes!

Oh just found this thread so haven't read through it all, but do any PH'ers attend the big day events in London?

I'm off to Trance Sanctuary and Liberation V8 next year and can't bloody wait! Day raves are the best smile

Sadly Liberation falls the day after the Ben Nicky boat party, and he's on at Ministry afterwards along with Styles, Gillies and Rust.. so it looks like I now have to do all three of them back to back. I've taken the Monday off.

Have a mix from a mate - this to me is pre party or post party - very cool and deep. He was DJ Ekto, one of the four behind Edition (a popular day event in London in the early 2000’s).

At least he can finally get some sleep.

Stunned by that news.

I remember in the summer of 1996 when I was basically a grunger moving into indie, directing a somewhat excitable female friend down a 15 minute shortcut farm track on the way to the local poor club/leisure complex... in her fiat punto... bouncing in and out of the ruts to insomnia and her ranting I'd ruined the car

biglaugh

girls eh?

Something about that track even then got under my skin, gat decors passion with the do you want it right now dub did the same thing a few months after

Hooked

Bang it out!

Just found this thread...I turn 50 next year but used to love big trance nights "back in the day"!

Like a few on here, I have a pair of decks in the loft (cheapo Numarks rather than 1210s sadly!) and a load of vinyl. Fiji Atlantis, Delirium Silence, Dumonde Tomorrow, Lightforce Join Me are a few I've not heard in many many years but got played a lot!

My music at home is now delivered by Sonos, with a few bluetooth speakers kicking around. If I wanted to blow the dust off these aforementioned bangers and play them again, is there some gadget/dongle I can plug into the output of my mixer and use with either Sonos/Alexa/Bluetooth?

Thanks!

There are a number of turntables that will allow an output into other devices - but Sonos I have no idea. https://www.westenddj.co.uk/dj-equipment/turntable...

Keep hold of your vinyl - it is only going up. Gutted I sold most of mine.

You can get a Bluetooth module for less than £20 which accepts analogue inputs and simply connect the Bluetooth speaker to that. Will probably need some adapters to get the output into a 3.5mm jack as that tends to be the input most often.

Anyway..... on with the music.... There is some fantastic electronic music out and about at the moment, 2022 was a huge year for electronic music, with a big revival of the 90's and early 00's sounds, unfortunately containing far too much sampling for my liking, especially in the "chart music". Separating out different genre's is difficult too, trance has evolved, music has evolved - the pure melodic sounds are now more commonly sat over a house or techno beat than a trance beat.

This has some old school vibes... mainly due to the "consciousness" lyric, which isn't quite a sample but not far off;
