Depends where you look.

The Trance channels on di.fm are still playing trance, bigdub and Don1 are still doing trance mixes, so clearly trance is still alive and well.

Sure, there is plenty of EDM around that isn't trance and is mislabelled as trance, but that is hardly the fault of trance.

I don't agree. There will always be people wanting to make trance just like there are still people making glam rock or blues or whatever. Genres don't die, they just become less mainstream.

I was a late starter. I think my first exposure to trance was the first Euphoria in 1999 on CD. Had they been vinyl I would probably have worn them out. LOL

Of course, back then I didn't realise it was called trance. I just knew that I loved it.

Now, 24 years on, I still love trance. Mostly I listen on https://www.di.fm and also listen to bigdub's compilations and also Don1's.

I've met both bigdub and Don1 in person too, but only socially rather than hearing them play.
