Gig plans - 2023

How were GnR?
I've got Isle of Wight next week, although I'm not that excited by the line up this yr. I think I'll skip Robbie Williams in favour of Echo and the Bunnymen/Manic Street Preachers. Chemical Brothers, Pulp & George Ezra should be good though.
Also got Muse at the end of the month, which will be amazing as always!

Went to see Ice Nine Kills in Glasgow last night. Tremendous show. Support bands weren't my jam but they were incredible, really well put together show with props etc. They're a hardcore/metal band who have their songs based off different horror movies and have a bit of a stage show revolving round each one. Would highly recommend catching them if you get the opportunity and are vaguely in to that kind of thing!
Managed to get a ticket last minute for Carcass on Monday night at The Loft, Southampton tiny place, such an intimate venue for them... blew my mind - so good!
Decapitated - Brighton in August
Obituary - Portsmouth also August
Was thinking Eyehategod in August, but I saw them support Napalm Death immediately before Covid lock down, so I'll pass this time around.
Sleaford Mods - London in December

Currently listening to the Metallica set at Download - from 10 miles away...
Aww.Had some real mixed feelings about wanting to see Metallica on a pretty special tour which given our plans might be the last opportunity too and preferring never to go near that gouging clusterfuuk ever again...
Had 4 tickets for Arctic Monkeys in Hillsborough Park tonight (their spiritual home and ten minutes walk from our house - lovely!)
Son had his ankle broken three weeks ago so I took it on the chin and ditched it with him, sold two tickets. Wife and daughter still going. The soundcheck was going on yesterday teatime and we could hear it even with windows closed. My daughter saw how gutted I was and bought me two tickets for the Saturday night one, so I need to find a mate to go with now!
Mardy bum......

did a late booking to see Elton John last night. I had no real interest but PA/gig buddy was keen as had never seen him.
so I got a couple of tickets a went for the craic. very enjoyable and being of a certain age knew all of the songs bar a couple of LP tracks. The band were average age of about 97 but incredibly tight and some had been with him since literally day 1.
not a wasted evening which was my fear.

Hope you’re enjoying the gig. I can hear it from my garden right now. Sounds good. Son had his ankle broken three weeks ago so I took it on the chin and ditched it with him, sold two tickets. Been offered Blur tix at Wembley for £80 - ex missus gets a discount through work. On the one hand, I've never seen Bur & would like to get to a show, on the other it is Wembley & I just don't fancy the agg of getting there nor the venue itself much. On the horns of a dilemma with this one.
