I know, but I still don't see a Styles' recommendation as a positive! (I do like Wet Leg, though! smile )

I first became aware and an instant fan in late 2021 (just too late to realise and catch them whilst at the Sep 21 Isle of Wight Festival).
So I made up for that by seeing them at the June 2022 IOWF, by which time they were huge and could have filled the big top tent 4 times.
The organisers made a mistake by not assigning them to the main stage.

My mates and I are 50's and are big fans, so their stuff really does transcend the generations.
Though, one mate initially said Wet Leg were like a sixth form band with naive lyrics. That was until I sat him down with their album, which is so catchy I forced him to like them. smile
We've since covered Wet Dream on one of our jam sessions. - As a novice bass player, I really enjoy their bass lines, contrary to what an earlier posted said.

A shame that they're not scheduled for the IOWF '23 (main stage) for a 3rd year in a row.

Thing with them is they've been touring a record for a while now. All eyes on whether they can repeat the success of the first record with the notoriously difficult second album.

I played in a band with a guy who'd drummed in a moderately successful group, toured with Oasis etc. They had come under heavy pressure from the record company to write & record the second record with the result that they'd rushed it, writing on tour buses, hotel rooms etc. Predictably it didn't reach the same quality of the first, the singles bombed & they were out.

It looks like WL have done their second record & I hope Domino have given them the space & support to let them polish it up to standard. They'd be mad to do anything different but it's definitely a thing in the music biz.

Their tour is taking up alot of time, I think they were in Mexico last night and then coming back into the US before doing Europe and the UK.
It has been said they have completed a 2nd album, but like you said may need polishing up to their standards. They seem to have had much freedom in the making of the first album, and I hope this continues for the second one. I think as long as they are free to create and enjoy what they are doing, a good follow-up arrives...
