Saw Pendulum at Resorts World last night - found them excellent. They've obviously moved on a bit since i first heard them back in the raving days, with some tunes being closer to thrash metal than DnB, but more than enough classics to keep me going.

Rob didn't do much in the way of audience participation, and there was a hint at times for the classics they were just playing a CD given how close it sounded to the original, but overall really enjoyed it.
Yeah I was there too, great gig, crazy bass :-)

Saw Feeder at the Roundhouse last night, really excellent gig and the atmosphere was brilliant. There's a reason why they are still going strong nearly (blimey doesn't time fly) 30 years in.

Just signed up for Jess Glynne's album lunch gig at Pryzm in Kingston next month.

My daughter and I saw her a few years ago and enjoyed the gig, so £17 for a CD and gig seems a no-brainer

those little album launch gigs are great value and much more intimate

good night out on Friday, Norman Jay MBE, the legendary DJ in black music quarters took his 'Good Times' sound system and turned it into a live gig at the Royal Festival Hall at Southbank.

covering a selection of soul tracks from the past 30 odd years with a selection of vocalists that i'd happily see doing their own turn. Great selection of tunes that are all in my record collection and done very well.

Definitely - I discovered them when Wet Leg were first popular. I thought I'd see if they were live anywhere and it was when they launched their album.

For many acts, a 45 minute gig and no useless support act is just about perfect!

the record store Rough Trade do loads of these; I'm guessing the Kingston gig is linked to the shop there too?

Bit of a quiet year so far ,

Paloma at Lincoln castle ,
And just bought 2 tickets for Stevie Nicks BST!
I honestly feel like I’ve been violated! Standard entry all on re- sale at £200+ so I went crazy and bought gold circle tickets direct at £250 each .seemed the best deal and less risk. Hope she’s worth it smile

Booked Alice cooper for October, not quite sure what to expect but still looks like a decent show looking at YouTube videos over past couple of years. And the female guitarist, Christ that girl can play!

Saw them a couple of years ago, and like you didn’t know what to expect - but it was brilliant… plenty of recognizable tunes, costumes, effects and top notch musicians. And yes, Nita is wonderful…

Enjoyed this more than I thought I would. Essentially the band's a vehicle for Slash's lead guitar, but they all gel well together and put on a good show. The many guitar solos didn't drag, and the bonus - no drum solo!

Slash actually seems quite a good guitarist, once you get past the silly name/hat/leather trousers/shades and sweat. biggrin

We were there too. Looks from your first photo that you might have been standing quite near me.

It was excellent (although there was a rather gassy person stood a bit too near for my liking)

They really had a lot of energy and their latest album is brilliant.

Yes, Banquet (Beggar's Banquet, as was, as my Grandmother used to say) Records.

Sorry, it must have been that scotch egg I had earlier....

It was a great atmosphere, I was at the Bexhill gig as well and although they were great as always, the crowd were a little bit sleepy, nowhere near the vibes of the Roundhouse.

Just added Stipe (an REM tribute band) to my list as they're playing in my most local venue, so I thought it'd be worth a look/listen.

Underworld at Ally Pally on Saturday were as good as usual. Seen them maybe 6 times over the years and the crowd is maturing nicely with age ranging form teens (my mate brought his 16 year old daugther) through to late 60s, still making shapes and having a great time.

id love to see Underworld. The Wasing estate looks like it would be a lovely venue to see them at. Unfortunately it clashes with another gig we're booked to see that day.
Hoping to catch them sometime in future

the Wasing site looks quite good but dates do not align for anyone i'd want to see there; a shame as it's pretty close for me

Seen so far this year (of note):

Ben Ottewell & Ian Ball from Gomez last month who were brilliant
Last week I saw the Hives who were outstanding - had heard great things, but was blown away

Still to go this year:

The Black Keys at the end of the month
Crowded House in June
Foo Fighters in June

Need to get more booked in for the second half of the year!
