Was sorely tempted with PSB at the Roundhouse but am already going a few times elsewhere so will re-consider. Supposed to be a decent venue too.
another shout out for The Roundhouse; great venue that I'm always keen to visit. Seen some excellent gigs there. For fans of old school pubs with decent beer, there’s a great pre-gig boozer called Tapping the Admiral about 5 minutes walk away too.
This was pre-show from The Wedding Present a few years back I think. See what I mean about the pillars?!

Roundhouse is a cracking venue, seats upstairs and standing downstairs, wherever you are it feels like an intimate gig.darreni said:

Booked The Cult and Slipknot towards the end of the year. Rock on!
I've booked The Cult in October & the Damned in December, can't wait! There's a very 80's/90's theme to the other gigs on my list for the year with multiple PWEI, and The Mission gigs as well as L7, Janes Addiction, Adam Ant and Utah Saints

Just found out the support act for the Manics @ Trentham Gardens in July is Public Service Broadcasting rather than Suede.
Never heard any of their stuff but see they appear highly rated - what's worth a listen before the gig?
PSB supported my favourite band The Manics at Wembley Arena in 2021 and I fell in love with them that night. Have seen them three more times since then in Bath, Oxford & Bournemouth and have got tickets to see them in Bristol, Cardiff, Leeds & Manchester on their autumn tour of the UK and Europe. Never heard any of their stuff but see they appear highly rated - what's worth a listen before the gig?
To say their music is niche would be an understatement but it's superb stuff. Only four or five albums so far but maybe listen to some tunes from each album to get a drift on how they are.

It’s a great thread this, for heads up on tours.
Off to look for Cult and The The tickets now.
Really want to see Nick Cave but seen him before and hate the O2 with a passion
What is it you don't like about it, Adam? Size? Site? Parking? Public transport?Off to look for Cult and The The tickets now.

I went last night for the first time, admittedly it's on the wrong side of London for me travelling from Bristol, but wasn't too bad getting out, quite well organised. Left the arena at around 10.25pm, was back in Ickenham car park at 11.40pm.

Size and therefore crap view unless you close to stage, acoustics not idealI like smaller venues

Jethro Tull (Lowry Theatre)
Ian Anderson note perfect on the flute even if his voice is a bit weaker. Great prog rock night, Aqualung, Bouree and Locomotive Breath the highlights.

Fair enough. We were on the side last night (side where you look to right to see stage) and level with the final row of floor seats. Wasn't too bad; off to the Killers in July there and am on the floor for that one.
Last person I saw there was Prince and we were to the side but right up the top, I know he was short but bloody hell see could barely see him. Might as well have watched it on TV.Also dislike Ally Pally (wrong shape, rubbish acoustics, pain to get to)

even venues like the NIA or Genting in Birmingham are better despite still being too big, but more fit for purpose. Used to think Wembley arena was crap as too big, but with the screens and smaller size than 02 it feels much better these days.
