My favourite for many years K T Tunstall in 2004

Not a Foo Fighters fan particularly but the Later performance that springs to mind is this one, it’s fantastic, from memory I think there was a bit of oneupmanship going on with Arcade Fire

A couple spring to mind.......

Broadcast in 1997, so would have been an early live performance.

The next is very niche; a bit "outside" as it were. Back in the early 1990's, I'd been learning to play the guitar for a couple of years and loved Jimmy Page's violin section on "Dazed and Confused" live. Anyway, coming home pissed as a fart one Saturday I tuned in to Jools and the first act was Porno For Pyros headed by the lead singer of Jane's Addiction. The violin guitar sections from Peter Di Stefano were - to me - bloody marvellous:-

Not remotely my preferred genre, but I still maintain this Mary J Blige performance is one of the greatest ever captured on tape:

Even her own backing singers at the end are like, "WTF just happened?" eek

I accept it isn't for everyone, but I loved Jobseeker by Sleaford Mods from a few years ago:

Pete Townshend Magic Bus.
I love it when says "it's supposed to sound like this". I don't think Leo ever thought it would quack!

That Mary J Bilge one is the classic.

And I love Sleaford Mods as well. Some good choices here.
