Now that is the kind of post in here that leads one off to investigate; good work! biggrin
It's subjective, of course, but the more I listen to it the closer I come to the conclusion that it's the best album I've ever owned. If you do buy it make sure you get the 'deluxe' version which has an extra three tracks which would be a shame to miss, especially Stange Love which is utterly haunting with its vocals hinting at Simon & Garfunkel's The Boxer.

Loads of artists that I've loved at some point (and some new ones) all released albums recently so I went on a spending spree. Don't know when I'll have time to listen to them all:

Robert Plant
Ryan Adams
Interpol
Tricky
Royal Blood
Plus that free U2 one

Most recent purchase is New Model Army- Between Wine and Blood. Absolutely brilliant, as ever. I need to get the new Ryan Adams, too.

Thoughts on it?

I feel like I ought to buy it in support as I generally buy anything Wildhearts related and quite like Jackdaw4 but just not sure whethedr it'll be my thing. Is it good?

Just bought World on Fire by Slash and it's superb, I can't stop listening to it and I've only had it 3 days! As much as I liked Apocalyptic Love this is better by quite a margin, the band sound really cohesive with great vocals and obviously great guitar work. Well recommended!

There are some nice bits, but it's a bit lightweight if you prefer WH material (I take it that you're on FB: ATW ). Some of the harmonies are very Squeeze~ish in places and it feels rude to say that it's inoffensive, maybe I need to listen to it a lot more than I have. They have a couple of pieces on soundcloud https://soundcloud.com/thedowlingpoole worth having a listen to.

Bit of a spree this week

Simian Mobile Disco - Whorl, bit of a departure this one for them and all the better for it with the music recorded allegedly in the desert in real time. Kind of get the atmosphere from it that this is what happened, great early morning/late night music.

Aphex Twin - Syro, just classic Aphex Twin enough said.

and at long last

Jon Hopkins - Immunity, total masterpiece that I've listened to countless times but only just got round to buying on vinyl.

All come highly recommended if you like your music electronic

Went a bit nut this week. I listened to Eric Clapton Unlugged at the weekend for the first time in maybe 10 years, and loved it so bought:

'Unplugged' albums by: Neil Young, Bryan Adams, Bob Dylan, REM, Alice in Chains (amazing!) and Florence and the Machine.

As well as that I bought a couple of albums by XX and Yes.
