I used to between the age of 12 and 18, buy university I'd grown out of it...cut my hair and discovered girls, most of it sounds terrible to me these days, except for a few bands like G&R or Chilli Peppers.

I'm currently listening to

Iron
Aluminium
Magnesium
And alloy, for a great cross-over sound. What genre is it? Nobody knows.

Stricly speaking those are Light Metal, rather than Heavy.

I wont conform to your poser genre definitions!

Always been a big Led Zep fan, too young to have seen them live but saw Page and plant play wembley a few years back.
Same here. Must put you right though: Led Zep were NOT heavy metal. They were just the greatest rock band ever to walk the planet.

Today I bought tickets to see Aersomith (twice), Ozzy Osbourne and Megadeth in the coming months. I feel a loud summer coming on...

Heavy metal is great, as long as it is fissile.

WRT the music, it would be great if only they didn't spend the whole time doing what my mate memorably describes as "death hell sex and dragons" and I describe rather more crudely as "stupid fecking horror movie shit". There are plenty of other subjects for which heavy metal is an appropriate style of music that would result in a final product much more acceptable to my sensibilities.

Uhm, like, that's not totally fair. They've done alien invasions and ethnic cleansing too, you know. Rock on, etc

Get some "Lamb Of God" down your ears. F'kin ace thumbup

Or some "Pig Destroyer", if you're into grindcore stuff, depends how far you want to stretch the definition really.

Apart from all the perrenials, many of which have already been mentioned, I'm also really into stuff like Dillinger Escape Plan, Botch, Biffy Clyro, At The Drive In but not sure how you classify them.
