Indeedy!

But my nomination (in the spirit that the OP intended!) would be..

REM - Everybody Hurts frown
Same here. I have a fantastic video of REM at Glastonbury, superb shots of the lights twinkling, the Pyramid... well, being the Pyramid, and the huge crowd. Stunning, but I just can't listen to Everybody Hurts. Reminds me too much of two good friends who passed away much before their time frown

I can't think of any songs that bring a lump to my throat apart from anything by the spice girls, but thats more of a gag reflex......
One song that does gives me a feeling such as the one you describe is 'My Immortal' from Evanescence....

Guns N Roses: November Rain, Don't Cry and Civil War. Excellent songs
The Who: Behind Blue Eyes is also amazing

Behind Blue Eyes should bring a lump to your bonce! It's about what a thug Daltrey was.

"First time ever i saw your face" by Roberta Flack.... makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck.
There have been lots of versions but for me, this is the best. I am not sure its original though?

Absolutely. One of the first covers I did in a band. Taught me a lot about drumming at the age of 15 I can tell you.

..off their finest album also.

Yep definitely the best album by the best band of all time.
I have the deluxe version which has a second version, I think a demo recording, and it's great, a little slower than the final album version and just as great. Also the live version of "Water" is fantastic, great for those slow(ish) drives

Forever this:

Not that vid in particular, but the piece of music itself. Every note, every accent, every passage is just magic.

Agreed, just watched a video that was posted on the prison diary thread in the P&P and I remember it from the F1 heroes video.

A truly haunting piece of music,
