Been watching a few of these videos and thought they were pretty incredible.

i thoroughly recommend the "Volkerball" CD/DVD package, the concert footage from the show in Nimes is epic!

Amerika, Ich Will and Benzin are probaly my favourite vids from them

Recognised Amerika when I heard it today but had never seen the video before, very very clever.

Have pulled down about 16 videos on Torrent, been watching on a 4 metre projector screen with 3.5kW of audio. Absolutely mindblowing.

Is the Nimes show the Feuer Frei performance with the fires on stage and down the sides of the audience?

I can't believe I've only just stumbled on them - the production standards are extraordinary!

Who/what are they? Heavy German equivalent of the Floyd???

Awestruck! eek

i believe they are known as german industrial or "Tanz" (dance) metal, whatever the catagory is they're awesome IMO! the band was founded in '94 and they have released 5 albums (6th is on the way)they have sold about 12 million records worldwide IIRC and the band still has all its original members!

some good background and band info here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rammstein

oh yeah they certainly did! i had a few of their albums, but then i sold them (to a languages teacher of all people!) and rediscovered them and the new material a while later. i then set about reacquiring their back catalogue (still haven't got Sehnsucht back yet, must get around to finding a copy!)

Strange you hadn't heard of the band before Phil, I'm sure I gave you a copy of my TR compilation that I did last year, it had 2 Rammstein tracks on it.

I acquired a copy of an album called Muttertag (I think is a bootleg, can't find it actually for sale anywhere) which I can only describe as a sort of "Pete Tong essential mix of Rammstein songs".
Fantastic driving music biggrin

Rammstein = mint. I love their pounding menace, it's brilliant for working out to too.

Simply awesome band - saw them live at Manchester on their last tour - easily the greatest live band I've ever seen. (you could FEEL the flames!)

So many good tracks, I love Engel, Reise Reise, ALL of the mutter material.

They also make cracking (if a little weird) ringtones - Sehnsucht and Zerstoren especially!!!
