I recently got Airto Moreira & the gods of jazz - Killer Bees. Great album. The remixes album is also much better than it would sound, it's called Revenge of the Killer Bees. Great stuff, both of them.

Also recently saw Omar Sosa live and bought a CD. Epic. Truly monumental music.

Charles Lloyd also does some great pieces.

Ciao

What about "Swing" and "Big Band" - all variants of jazz?
Well, Count Basie if that`s your thing!
Yup I have to agree... and only one place to start.

The Atomic Mr Basie, probably the best big band swing album of all time.

I love most swing - Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw - even Glenn Miller (although a bit saccharine at times).
I also like the orchestrations of Billy May and Nelson Riddle,
