I'll start by pointing out that I have extreeeeeeeeemely limited musical talents, but I dabble with a bit of piano / keyboard playing to while away some spare time.

This afternoon, at a loose end, I was trying to work out the keyboard riff for Van Halen's 'Jump' (which I realise must have been done and done again ad nauseam - but not by me smile ).

I sorted some of it, but not all of it, including the first two chords.

Can anyone enlighten this duffer please?

To get the full effect you'll be needing an Oberheim OBx to play it on too

Incidentally, never played live. Always a recording even when they did have a keyboard player. All well and good until someone sets the dat speed wrong. Earplugs at the ready (wait for the guitars):

Not really. Just a CASIO thing with lots of bells and whistles and gizmos to help the musically inept (i.e me) think they can make music. All good fun though!

Seems strange. Hardly a difficult rif. to play.

Indeed. Since I started this, I've worked it out - all by my ickle self - and it must be easy 'cos I can play it. (Haven't done the solo though, obviously)
