Heh, I have an old school (and I mean OLD) Roland lying around. It's got a floppy disk input and everything on it. Still works and will be seeing use in the band soon enough, when we figure out how in god's name to work the ing thing. mad

I have quite a few bits and pieces dotted about the house. Much of it I have now packed away in cupboards or under beds, as it had either outgrown my studio room or was basically just too much kit to use at once. I spent more time tracing problems than I did making music. So away it all went, apart from a few favourite bits of kit which I now keep in a rack here. And now that I just got Reason 4 (excellent), even this lot doesn't get used much now..
Sorry for the crap phone cam pict. Battery was flat in my proper cam..

P,

PS, They are a Doepfer Midi Analog sequencer (Its an absolute trip to watch if nothing else biggrin Its one of my all time favourite bits of kit by a long shot) Doepfer MS 404 midi analog monosynth. Waldorf Pulse midi analog monosynth. The ubiquitous Nord Lead Rack II. And finally at the bottom there, a control synthesis Deep Bass Nine midi analog monosynth. Which is one of a few 303 clones that appeared a few years back. Im not sure how much like a real 303 it sounds like as ive never used a real 303, but whatever, it does sound good smile

Cool rig PJR. I used to have a Pulse too. Still have an NL2 but it pretty much only gets used as a midi contoller for the Minimoog whose keyboard needs attention rotate

I always hoped to get a bunch of Waldorf Pulses. Because once software V2 was released, they could apparently be used in unison as a single polyphonic synth. I really liked the idea of this (still do) and I bet they would sound rather good together too. But.. as you can see, I never got around to it hehe One of my favourite things about the pulse was its ability to generate completely random sounds. Often the volume output was also randomised to 0 or near enough, so the sounds inevitably still needed some tweaking to be useable. But its quite an inspiring feature to have.

I have another little rack of goodies here which i use quite a bit. Not synths though, but things like a TL Audio valve compressor and SPL Vitalizer MK II Tube which I love to bits. Some folks shun Vitalizer type gadgets. But I rate them highly. Its a bit of a secret weapon when it comes to getting stuff to sound really good (If it sounds good, it IS good). And so far, no software equivalents have managed to pull off the same trick quite as well as this does. So its a keeper.

Your Mini is Midified then? It doesnt look like one of the modern recreations that would have midi. Or perhaps you use some CV conversion hoopla?
