Ive been a long time lurker, especially this thread in particular as theres some amazing instruments

So here my first post of a couple of my electric guitars.

Firstly the 2014 Epiphone Les Paul custom pro, finished in gloss black with gold hardware. This was my first venture back into playing after spending all my teenage years not having picked one up. Its heavy, clunky and hard to get a decent sound out of, but does have a sweet spot for some high gain stuff

Next is the 2017 Fender Stratocaster classic 50's re-issue in surf green. A Christmas present from the girlfriend after saying in passing conversation id love one some day. lovely tones and very versatile and a great easy neck to play

and finally the Fender** partscaster Tele. I bought this a few months ago from gumtree on a whim. Not entirely convinced of its origins as it was built by a chap in his bedroom. However it plays fantastically and is my go to guitar for a quick jam. Its road worn body and gold hardware look great and for the price I paid I'm so pleased it picked it up.

Welcome mate.
Nice collection there.

Cheers. It’s a Shawn Mendez replica I believe.

I also have a Taylor 114e which takes pride of place in the living room cloud9

The decor in your gaff is pretty special too, I love that wallpaper... and the wood backing for the guitar hooks too. Nice.

Thanks Soulginge, the wood is just 6” and 4” wide timber fence panels that I sanded and painted with dark oak silk varnish. Then cut to random lengths and screwed into batons on the wall to give a rustic look, with a 5m strip of coloured LED’s behind to give a glow. Think it cost about £70 all in and looks great in person. Maybe there’s a niche a could tap into if I had some extra time on my hands (which is rare!)

Thanks for the welcome

Amazing to think what you can do with a few offcuts and some ingenuity huh? It's given me some ideas mate, thanks. I know what you mean about having no time too.

Think it's finally time to upgrade from my first and only amp, a little fender frontman I've had since the beginning of time.

I don't want to spend a great deal and I think I want something with editable tones and effects for plug and play ease, and being able to sound like a real rocker!

My heart is saying stretch to the boss katana, my wallet is saying the black star ID core 10. I also like the idea of the line 6 amplifi TT, but think I want a black box.

What's the general consensus for modest amps for a total beginner messing around in the house?
Another vote for the Yamaha THR10 here. Very decent amp

Looks and sounds great, but more money than I can justify.

Going to be hard enough waiting to save enough for the katana!

I know there's a lot recommending the THR10, but I sold mine this week after owning it the last 4 years. Great amp but Vox have released the Adio and it's just better at everything. It's replaced my Yamaha.

What is your budget exactly? There are a couple of THR10s on the dreaded eBay for less than £200. I have one and I find it incredibly useful, not just as an amp but as a pretty useful audio interface that can be completely adjusted and fettled with on my computer rather than on the amp itself. That is a large part of the cost of it, but you get a lot for your money.

It does look st, but I can look past that, if it sounds good! I'm actually tempted to buy a Katana 100 and just see how it compares when set low down (the 100 seems to sound better than the 50 side by side at any setting). There's one going locally for £150 although there's no footswitch with it.

My boy’s guitar teacher has the Katana and it does sound great. A bit OTT for us at home though when we generally play at modest volume.

Not a new guitar, but a new pedal...a Wampler Pinnacle.

Has replaced my Fulltone OCD (for now...).

I like it music

A lovely collection. I'd be quite content with that lot as it covers nearly every base.

How well does that Mooer Noise Killer work? I've been looking at noise suppressors for my board and had discounted these as cheap. I notice however that most of what you have on your board is top drawer stuff with the Mooer nestled in between. Is it up to the job with the Strymon and Wampler stuff you have?
