Lets look at our guitars thread

OK, recommendations/suggestions needed: have just been given the green light to get an acoustic guitar and have a budget of £c.400. Would prefer something a little smaller because I'll mostly be playing sitting down and don't have lots of space.
All helpful suggestions gratefully received!

Martin 0001xae? Smaller than a dread, electro acoustic. Still has deep bass although probably sacrifice a bit of that crisp jangle. Theyre pretty widely available second hand at that. All helpful suggestions gratefully received!
Alternatively, have a look at the Yamaha range, theyve got some lovely stuff at decent prices.

My Mrs (green light) has also given me permission to buy an acoustic with a similar budget, good times. I have been looking at a parlour guitar by a company called Art & Lutherie. They're made in Canada by Godin and have been receiving some pretty good reviews and they're not too expensive. Have a look and see what you think. All helpful suggestions gratefully received!

Otherwise, as above, you really can't go wrong with a Yamaha acoustic. In my experience, buying a guitar from the more expensive end of the range from a "cheaper" company gets you a better guitar than buying a budget one from a big name.

How well does that Mooer Noise Killer work? I've been looking at noise suppressors for my board and had discounted these as cheap. I notice however that most of what you have on your board is top drawer stuff with the Mooer nestled in between. Is it up to the job with the Strymon and Wampler stuff you have?
It’s OK; I mainly use it when playing my Strat, and it does kill off background hum. There’s a choice of hard (immediate shutoff) and soft (as playing dies away, noise reduction gradually ramps up) setting which is nice. Be aware that it doesn’t strip out hum...as soon as the guitar signal is louder than the hum then it all gets let through, but when you stop playing and the input sound fades towards zero (and hum would be more noticeable) it shuts down the output completely = no hum.In all honesty, it’s not a pedal I’m excited about but it’s cheap, has been reliable and does the job (at least, it does the job better than no pedal). I could probably get a much better one, but it seems fine/inoffensive for now.

Marty Schwartz is on my subscribe list on YouTube, and he plays a Taylor which has a really good, rich sound. Probably not in your budget if bought new, but I suspect so if bought s/hAll helpful suggestions gratefully received!

Right, thanks for that mate. I have an issue with my compressor adding hiss to my signal and I wondered about getting some kind of noise suppressor to combat it. I had looked at the Hum Debugger by EHX but I don't really want to spend a huge amount on a pedal that doesn't do something cool/ something to get excited about. If it does the job and isn't going to drop to bits in five minutes, perhaps I'll get one and see. Thanks. A hum-canceller is unlikely to help with your hiss. The latter is broadband noise, whereas hum is the 50Hz rubbish that's a lot easier to weed out.Your compressor is just doing it' job, raising the noise floor closer to the level of the guitar signal. They all do that and the trick is to get the gain staging right and experiment with settings to minimise the problem. Many guitarists use a noise gate to kill the problem.

Looks amazing! What do you do about straps though, as it wouldn't look nearly so good with a strap-per-guitar hanging down?Do you hide them? Not use them? Have a single strap and fit everything with straplocks?

Looks a lot like a Chapman Stick... what's the difference? Ive been playing guitar for 40 years. None of that playing prepared me for the learning needed for this!
