Lightweight travel guitar, check.
Small and portable amp, check.
World's most obstinate and inflexible jack lead, check.

It coils up pretty small, but just grabbed shortest lead I have. Will check out that wireless dongle for next trip though. Always thought they were more expensive.

It coils up pretty small, eventually, after half an hour twisting it back and forth...

The Fly 3 is a great amp had one for a while , it's worth getting the £25 extension stereo cabinet it turns it into a 6 watt

I liked it so much I bought a Blackstar Anniversary 10w Artisan valve amp cool

After my Esquire build and buying a Les Paul Junior earlier this year I decided I wanted to complete the trilogy with a single pick up offset guitar...except they don't make one. Instead I've bought a MIM Jaguar Player which I will put a custom made pickguard and a new wiring loom to make it into a single humbucker Jaguar with a blocked trem (yes I know, it's not really what a Jag is about).

I've already swapped the knobs for some spare Tele ones I have. Just researching pickguard options, or I may buy a blank one and use mine as a template to make my own. I have the pickup and pots, etc already in my spares box, so just need to add a black pickup surround to my parts order. It doesn't feel as smooth as my Esquire or Junior, but I'm sure I'll be able to polish up the frets/fret ends and generally tweak the set up to my liking. I couldn't justify buying an American Pro model (at £1499) and doing mods to it, plus they are still poly finished as well, so it's a lot to pay for a rosewood fingerboard over a Pau Ferro one (though it's not as light as some I've seen, so will see what it's like after a drop of fingerboard oil):

This is a doctored picture of what I'm planing on doing: Quite a change from a regular Jag and much cleaner looking IMHO as I don't really like all the chrome switch plates and extra knobs.

Interesting mods there, good to see someone buck the trend.

Hmmmm

Thanks. wink

The only issue is that I really like the sound of the neck pickup through my Marshall SV20H (20 watt 'Plexi'). I can see me getting another Jag at some point.

Not my guitar, it belongs someone better known. Someone else quite well known thought it was worth taking a pic of too...😁

I'm sure I've seen this picture before, is it a display in like LA or NY or the likes?

Can imagine it'd be quite cool having a nosey round and bumping in to Scott Ian hehe

The Metropolitan in NY?

I was there last year and they had a big music related exhibition, although I don't remember that one

Yes, the Metropolitan, last Summer. Amazing exhibition, got a few other pics I think. Only recognised Scott Ian after I'd taken the photo. Almost went to get a selfie with my kids goading me into it, but he was with mates and family so I thought better of it (I.e. I bottled it).

And a taste for Orange amps too. smile Nice Jazzmaster; I'll probably end up with one to go with my Jaguar at some point. smile

Built up my cheap harley benton DIY SG. Surprisingly good, the pickups genuinely took me by surprise with how good they are for a sub £100 kit. The supplied strings are crap which is no surprise but for the money it's great. Going to do a couple cheap modifications, namely tuners as the standard ones are terrible, notchy things that lose tune every 2 minutes but colour me impressed. Couple of the pre drilled holes weren't quite lined up but manageable.

I haven't painted it, just left the factory coating whilst I built it up and made sure it all went together and tbh, I'm quite tempted to keep it as is.

Just finished this for my 4 year old son - it’s a 20” scale guitar and is incredibly diddy compared to my “real” ones. Plays pretty nicely although I need to put lighter strings on it. The leds in the fingerboard are pretty funky too.

That's great, was that a kit or designed yourself?
