New Stratocaster day after finishing putting it together last night
Warmoth Alder body in Candy Apple Red, Roasted Maple neck and indian rosewood fretboard
Hardware is from Charles Guitars, pickups are a set i had kicking around but a set of noiseless Kinman Blues are on route. Just needs a good setup now.

it’s come out quite well I think - the Warmoth stuff is fabulous quality and with some decent hardware and pickups and a good setup and you’re in custom shop territory for half the price
Just having another look at it now and I noticed that you've used aged metal and plastic parts, but a fresh body, much like mine: I couldn't bring myself to start sanding and chipping away at it after all my work spraying it. I expect it will wear and age gracefully once I get it out gigging. I love the almost 3D look of the paint on the horn on yours. Good point about the set up too: Spent the last few evenings fine tuning it all, tweaking the action, neck relief, couple of strokes on the nut slots (ooh err!) and pickup heights. Really got it all settled in now. It's interesting playing it back to back with my other guitars too; especially my other Strat that was re-fretted then professionally set up. Different specs, but I honestly feel like it plays as nicely.
At the risk of being in the dog house I'm off to play it some more as I didn't get through my full set list before tea.
Had another little finish-related issue the other day. Brand new body, just finished sanding so it's ready for finish, sat it on top of a pile of washing so as not to scratch it ... came down in the morning to discover that during the night, it had slipped off onto the floor. Sod's law, small dent in it.
Now one technique that sometimes works is to place a drop of water on the dent, leave it overnight and it sometimes pops out. Had several attempts but in this case, no luck. Took it up a notch Dampen a cloth, put it over the dent, then apply a hot iron until you hear it sizzle. Well it hasn't worked completely but the dent is now so small that I can only see it because I know it's there.
So I'm fairly confident that it won't show once the finish is on!
