Same here; swapped mine out for some made by The Creamery. Not CuNiFe but still great pickups, with a very musical character.

I got the Creameries too and really like them - both neck and bridge.

I fancied Creamary pick ups for my Jaguar project, but at the time deliveries were really long/perhaps even a waiting list type affair and I was too impatient. I quite fancy trying some of their mini humbuckers in my P90 Les Paul, since I still have an LP Junior with a single P90.

A few picks of the current crop.

2x Vigier Excaliburs. Great guitars. Not that common, but the best put together and nicest playing guitars I've owned I think. The cherry burst was a relative bargin off ebay but was a real dog when it arrived so had to strip apart most of it and clean up. Flame Top was 2nd hand from a shop and is like brand new.

According to their website the Creamery is taking orders again from early next month. I like the idea of the 'hidden humbucker' ones.

Alternatively, there seem to be plenty of other UK boutique makers that will do you P90 sized humbuckers:

https://www.alchemypickups.co.uk/humbucker-sized-p...
https://www.oilcitypickups.co.uk/product-page/soap...
https://www.northernpickups.co.uk/humbucker-p90
https://tonerider.com/products/rebel-90 (made in China I think)

Nice! What's the 'cup' on the cherry one, below the neck pickup? At first I thought it was a missing switch, but it doesn't seem to be.

Thanks for the links. I have some oil city pickups in my Telecaster.

It's a thimble... yes... really. Have a search for Bumblefoot on YouTube and he explains how he uses it. Its a bit of a silly thing. I don't use it, but just leave it there so it doesn't get lost.

I see; sort of a mini picking-hand slide. Ingenious!

Thanks for the explanation!

Where is the best place to sell a guitar? I have a couple that I have not played in years and thinking it’s time to move them on.

In south east so can travel to London easily.

Not trying to sell on here or anything, just have no idea where to start.

For run of the mill stuff eBay or Reverb are OK - particularly if you're willing to box it up and send it. Avoid Facebook Marketplace like the plague unless you like dealing with scammers.

For something special maybe get a proper valuation from one of the dealers in rare guitars in Denmark St

Smm159 your post has reminded me how long it's been since I last visited Denmark St - 32 years, where did it all go...?

My other half and I were browsing in the guitar shops down there and came home with a Squire Tele for me and a left handed acoustic for her, neither of which we still have all these years later. Must make amends on that score... I've been looking at Vox Teardrops and Phantoms, and Ricky 12 strings online ads and on youtube and really fancy one.

I don’t do facebook at all so all good on that front.

I have a Patrick Eggle Tony Iommi Legend, signed by Tony on the back so a bit of an odd ball, not sure if it’s worth going to Denmark street for? Also have no idea what to ask for it?

Also have a Hofner full size semi acoustic from maybe the late 50s early 60s. Again no idea what to ask for it.

Also heard good things about Phil's vintage guitars in Thame if you're anywhere near, although not used them myself. Could give you some advice and maybe a guide valuation - maybe worth a call?

Me too! Apparently my dad has a mate who works in one of the shops so I've got an open invitation to go and be a nuisance...

Just took delivery of this, a Fender 57 tweed deluxe. It’s possibly the best sounding amp I’ve owned, although it’s early days yet. There’s lots of exploration to be done as it’s a very weird set up compared to other amps with master volumes. Still, I managed to achieve the Les Paul ‘blues honk’ I was primarily after. I also had to buy a Toneking Iron Man II attenuator as it’s damned loud. Too loud to get the valves cooking without upsetting neighbours.

I can seriously recommend the Iron Man II. I lose zero tone, even on the lowest setting. It’s easy to get set up and allows tube amps to really come alive.
