There are far more buyers on Ebay and Gumtree than reverb.com There are some guitar-related sales pages on Facebook, too. Of course, all three have more numpties than reverb.com

You just just have to decide which suits your type of guitar/amp best.

Good point - I'm at the cheap end of the scale so I'm sure Facebook/Gumtree/eBay will do nicely, thanks.

That's the place where you dont really want to sell it, but if someone's prepared to give you what you're asking then you'd let it go.

When you do want to sell it, eBay and Facebook groups

I've sold some quite expensive guitars on eBay but will not post abroad. Also, anything over about £500 doesn't get posted, I insist on collection.

A friend dropped this in for a setup at the weekend..

The pots and switches were very crackly and it needed a bit of a going over but it's all sorted now and plays really well.

A maple necked Gibson always looks really odd to me, probably because it's so unusual.

I'm convinced that the bloke who designed the scratchplate hadn't actually seen the guitar body beforehand.

Now I see where PRS got the idea for the PRS S2 singlecut satin.
I quite like it, other than the head stock.

I know you all hate it, but I think it looks fabulous and can't wait to give it a strum!

Certainly not my cup of tea but a very interesting price point. Assuming it plays well it does appear to be an absolute bargain compared to the Custom shop offerings.

Has anyone every done a half and half? One part absolutely pristine other half showing a heavy relic with a colour shown over the pristine side could be interesting.

Ie pristine lake placid blue on left, fiesta red over lake placid blue heavy relic on the right?

These are my two gigging guitars:
Wine red gibson les paul classic. All stock. Just been extensively set up and serviced so playing beautifully at the moment.

The other is just a couple of weeks old. It's a Vintage PRS shape which is a relatively budget make but well thought of. I had the pickups swapped for a new Dimarzio Air Norton in the neck and an Andy Timmons in the bridge. It has also had a coil split installed, which is really impressive and easily caters for the limited single coil use I need. All the meaningful electrics have been upgraded so it really is a nice instrument now. First gig with it a couple of days ago and it was a pleasure to use.

It has made me think that the pups in the les paul need an upgrade to be honest. The 496R and 500T are good for huge rhythm sounds and really searing leads but everything else, the Vintage at a quarter of the price has it beat.

Any suggestions for upgrades to the gibson pickups would be appreciated. I wouldn't want to lose the good stuff about the pickups - namely the face melting aspects they do best, but would like better crunch and cleans.
