There a numerous classic songs out there, but Im finding it hard to find an album as full of them as Stone Roses.

I'd always take Screamadelica over Stone Roses.

I'm afraid the whole Madchester/Baggy thing completely passed me by, so I can't agree.

"Fool's Gold" is, however, a very catchy tune.

Whoah!? Really? VP annoyed the crap out of me after a while, far too many weak tracks...can't think of a single average track on Scream.
Diff'rent strokes

Screamdelica caught/defined the Zeitgeist, Vanishing Point could have been recorded at any point over the last 15 years.

Surely not ?

I saw him as a support for The Manics a few years ago, he was off his face and utterly ste.Even F.E.A.R. was unrecognisable.

Legend ? I think not.

+3 - if they had included Love Spreads (prob best track) & Fools Gold, would make a great album a mega one.

I Am The Resurrection gets my vote from that album.

Loud and through headphones, and I'm back in '89, wandering to a party in 32" flared jeans, t-shirt and beads....

Great tunes, great times....

no offence but radiohead are crap.(not that I expect you to agree)

morning glory is good, I still listen to it, but even someone as musically untalented as myself recognises that it is all presentation, no substance.

Stone Roses, Oasis, Radiohead... Ha!

Best album ever is Back to the World by Curtis Mayfield.

There are about 3 great tracks on the first Stone Roses album, the rest ranges from OK to irritating. I've never trusted the Roses as they started out as a goth band, and judging from their second album and the combined output of the of their former members I think it's fair to say that they got lucky with their debut.
