Discussion
I must confess I never got what the fuss was about with this album. Sure it has a few great tracks on it, but it doesn't strike as being anything particulary special or groundbreaking. I don't have any strong feelings about it either way, and I suppose I like music to leave me feeling something other than "ho hum."

ian brown = legend
Surely not ?I saw him as a support for The Manics a few years ago, he was off his face and utterly ste.Even F.E.A.R. was unrecognisable.
Legend ? I think not.
FEAR is a chooon and a half, especially the remix version.
They were awesome live at about the time the album was released but always had the potential to be shambolic! Much better in tiny venues and it probably helped if you were in the right sort of head space
The album is amazing though, absolute soundtrack to thsat time and hasnt dated like much of the stuff from the time.

It doesn't have to the best album ever, it's quite sufficient for it to be a top album you should have in your collection.
Agree - love the Stone Roses.IIRC there was a 'Top 50(?) British albums' in Q magazine a while back, voted by the readers. It made the top 20.
