Yeah, Roger Daltry and Klaus Meine are right up there for me too.

I was listening to a bit of Saxon earlier, and I've seen them a few times, I always find Biff Byford entertaining.

Saw Klaus Meinl recently at a Scorpions concert - very impressive show for their ages, put many to shame. Agree with his voice.

My others would be Freddie Mercury and Dio.

David Lee Roth and Steve Perry worth a mention too

If you're talking about rock and Michael Bolton, you need to address him as Michael Bolotin and show a link of his hard rock days.

He's also been known to pick up a guitar and play a blues solo.

No mention of Brian Johnson or Geddy Lee, yet they are from two of the biggest selling Rock bands of all time ever.

I cant pick one but my top 5 in no particular order...

Rob Halford
Bruce "Air raid Siren" Dickinson
Rick Parfitt
Tim "Ripper" Owens
Tom Araya

So a long time ago I went see FastWay ... Fast Eddie Clarke (Motorhead) and Paul Way’s (UFO) band and the lead singer was a guy called Dave King. He was a brilliant singer with an amazing metal/rock voice.

One of my favourite festival bands over the last few years is an American/Irish/Punk/Folk/Whatever band called Flogging Molly. Turns out it’s the same guy!

I love PB - but I'd not have her as one of the best voices in rock TBH. If you're looking at female vocalists there are a lot of good ones out there...

Lizzy Hale (Halestorm) has some great pipes but 'best'? No

Tarja Turunen (formerly Nightwish) good range and power but (probably) too operatic for the purposes of this thread?

Amy Lee (Evanescence) is also worth a shout IMO

Probably yes. Personally I'm not keen on Tarja's accented singing, there's others in Symphonic metal I prefer.

As we're talking Nightwish, for female singers in metal, Floor Jansen is the best bar none in my opinion . Can compete with any of the best operatic singers (Tarja can't hold a candle live imho) and everything in between. The album grew on me but would have been nice if she had been utilised more on the last Nightwish effort, she has more gears than on that album.

Oh god yes Steve Marriott. What a voice. What a waste. Anyone who doesn't know of him should track down Black Coffee on you tube.

Bit late to this but for me it's got to be either:

Phil Mogg -UFO,
Phil Lynott

Not really into rock to be honest but their voices are/were excellent both live and recorded, surprised they've not been mentioned in this thread so far.
