Hot Chip - Made in the Dark.
It picks me up when I need it, a modern Kraftwerk?

Death Magnetic by Metallica for me too, although I am looking forward to Chinese Democracy come Monday. Haven't heard it yet.

That pleases me smile

I'm tired and having trouble spotting irony.

I found 2008 to be a little thin on good new material.

Did like the new God Is An Astronaut disc.

But the highlight for me was 'The 13th Star' by Fish.

Can I answer this on monday? Because judging from what I've heard so far, I'm hoping I'll be able to say Chinese Democracy by Guns n' Roses
A friend has a copy. Very disappointed. I've not heard it myself yet though.

There was a big we hate Nickelback thread on when Rockstar was out - I was hoping for a flaming, but PH let me down

Elbow yes
Kings of Leon yes (Even though it does tail off a bit)
The Last Shadow Puppets as well.

Septic Flesh - Communion
Amon Amarth - Twilight of the Thunder God

Cant decide between them (or give good reasons lol, I just feel the need to recommend some metal)

Metallica - Death Magnetic
Ihsahn - aNgl
Opeth - Watershed
Unearth - The March

Really can't decide between these 4. I would guess the new Cynic album will be on the list too once I've heard it, judging by the reaction thus far on other forums.

Massively disappointed by the Kings of Leon album. It's like one track stretched over a whole album, never really gets going.

Actually 2008 hasn't been a great year for albums. The new Sigur Ros album wasn't what I'd hoped either.

yes Death Magnetic is indeed very good, was a great return to form for the 'Tallica IMO!

AC/DC's Black Ice deserves a mention too, 'tis rockin'! music

Is it worth a purchase then? Similar to older stuff of theirs?

Definately. Good comeback album from rock 'n roll masters.

Which reminds me, whatever happened to that bass player kiddie (whose username escapes me) on here? He liked Nickelback alittle too much.

He was ace.

yes it is indeed!

and yes, a good majority of it does sound very reminiscent of the older material so its still very much a proper Acca Dacca album
"Skies On Fire" is a standout track on it for me, quite reminiscent of the melodic "Gone Shootin'" from Powerage tempo IMO
