Just watched Steve and he has just blown my socks off. With Obmaha coming to office, is the true America entering a new era?

Was a guest on Jools Hollands show a while back with a good interview too, looks like Jools himself was instrumental in Seasick Steve achieving fame.

For those that haven't seen him, watch this.

Saw him at Glastonbury playing what was like a plank of wood and a piece of fencing wire. Mental!

We saw him at The Dome in Brighton a couple of months ago. He was amazing and seemed a really nice guy, wandering around the audience whilst playing the guitar. He had some great stories and kept saying that he couldn't believe what was suddenly happening to him, playing large venues all over the place.

I now have his latest CD in my autochanger much to my kids disgust. laugh

Did you see him on that programme (with Emma Bunton presenting/can't remember the name of it) this morning?

'Something for the weekend' is the name your thinking of.

I love him but "living legend" and "genius"?

Suggest you check out any number of people that have gone down that path before him;

Robert Johnson
Son House
Johnny Shines
Skip James
Blind Willie Johnson
Mississippi Fred West
Bukka White
R L Burnside
Charlie Patton etc. etc. etc.

3 string guitar impressive? Try Cedell Davis. After suffering polio and being knocked over by a truck he could no longer play so he re-learned the guitar using the back of a knife!

Not taking anything away from him but he's knocking out some fairly standard blues/delta blues and has been catapulted into the limelight because he's a great character, gets his groove on and makes good TV. Don't get me wrong though, I have all of his albums rofl

Just bugs me when people declare him as "amazing" when they're generally ignorant to the kind of music he plays. You're not discovering Seasick Steve as such, but a rich genre of music that you don't normally listen too.

This is probably coming out wrong - I assure you there's no offence meant at all. More of a wake-up call if you like Steve's stuff.

Thanks for the reminder, bit of a character isn't he? I liked the gas station.
